Great update thanks but what means "soon" in this case?. A half year? Months? Weeks?. Nah, you aren't the only one actually. According to the statistics over 90% stopped playing this game. I never touched this game since the first alpha's and just waiting still. Even the best modders stopped working on their work unfortunately . I really like this game's concept and hope it grows up sometimes.
If your computer is such that having starbound installed prevents you from installing other games, I'd say you have other problems to be concerned about.
I've been harshly critical of the devteam's lack of focus on core feature consolidation in the past, or at the very least, communicating poorly about it--something that really pinches on my designer's instincts and experience. Get your concept right first, learn your resources, then you work on everything else. I've seen this happen to software devteams before; getting the chance to work on something self-led and ambitious, and getting ahead of their goals before wrapping their heads around what they're doing. And I also get the impression the devs had a bit of trouble getting their workspaces and communications set up consistently; I know how much trouble that can cause. Mundane life troubles can set you back years. TL;DR Don't bounce just yet. They're getting their design consolidated, features synergized, and coming out with great ideas I didn't predict based on their development cycle thus far. Development is marching on pretty fast. Have faith. PS: Such edit, very edit. Soz mods for not composing my thoughts more before posting.
Less than a week, as has always been the case with updates to Unstable. I don't think any modders who consider themselves among "the best" are actually aware of their own limitations. I'd say one of the best modders for Starbound would be well-versed in lua scripting and willing to make weird and interesting creations thar rival Chucklefish. I'd say Wellbott and SpiderDave fit that, more than you, sayter, or myself (because we all fail at lua).
@Mackinz: you realize of course that I was joking I mean, shit, when was the last time I used "TIL" non-jokingly?
A lot of people actually don't like playing the unstable, so...[DOUBLEPOST=1449171471][/DOUBLEPOST]So uh, Is anyone else going to point out how stupid and incredibly useless the "Blink Slash" skill is? You can only use it if there's an even surface on level in front of you, it barely lands because it's a weirdly animated attack, and it's basically a weaker, less useful (more like useless, to be honest) version of "Blink Explosion".
Then they really shouldn't complain about not being able to wait to play with features working in the mostly relatively stable Unstable version of Starbound and wait a week.
True, but it's just a thought. I honestly don't play the unstable, it's more like I just put on /admin and search for stuff to call in about. I'd rather help speed up the process instead of whining all damn day. Well, the blink tech isn't a thing anymore, so... no, you couldn't. It was a pretty useful tech, I'll admit, though a bit overpowered.
I don't mind waiting for the stable update, particularly after Chiaki McCool Bongo'd my computer to a blue screen of death and caused my teleport waypoint system to be erased. True story.
I'm honestly just waiting for it so I can start building my asteroid-based race track/colony where it won't face the threat of termination so often.... Man, I really wish backseat drivers could use guns in cars/boats, I wanted to have a death race.
I relate to the first part of this, but like....NOW you've had enough? Like, I'd understand you completely if you said that about a month or two ago but, IMO, the stuff in the changelogs are making me actually want to play again. Lmao it's like you specifically waited for moment things to got good again before you decided you've had enough.
I noticed that, as of the stable update (haven't tried the unstable one, so sorry if it's fixed there) some things seem to draw above others making strange things. Some examples are colony deeds drawing over opened doors and lights drawing over trees...
You know, I've never really understood why people don't think it's worth playing in the beta stage. It's about as complete as most other indie games, and it has been for at least two years now. The only reason they didn't declare it "done" is because the devs are so committed to the game that they're willing to delay it to make it as great as possible... Also, if you've already paid for the game there is literally no reason not to try it once in a while. It's just a waste of good money.
I'm still using blink Double-checked just now. Using latest unstable, blinking around just fine. No mods. There is Targeted Blink and Random Blink I'm using Targeted, which is where you blink to where your cursor is(Or closest to it, if there's something in the way.)
