So I've always been a big fan of farming management game, and i came across to a game namely stardew and as i followed the development, i memorized most of my expectation and the developer's marriage. and i expected the game to be unique and not like other farming game

    1. Is it true that you can marry any character? If i recall, ape promised the marriage to be more diverseIf, if not is there still a limitation for
      1. Same Sex marriage, can you still adopt a children
      2. Marrying an older person such is shawn's aunt
      3. Marrying a store owner like that desert girl
      4. Or even an essential character or a non humanoid
    2. How does this game different from harvest moon/rune factory series (which this game obviously based of) other than different graphic style and construction
    3. Do our character develop skills that modify stamina/work efficiency ex, farming and combat skill
      1. Is there even leveling interface and exp accumulation that increase stats.
      2. Do you get unique perk like affinity to cows or even allow you to pick up extra crops
    4. Is there any real life event or references or is the game purely fictional like the valley itself is not based of any real life location
    5. Is there alternate crafting option for like
      1. Cooking
      2. Blacksmithing
      3. Construction object other than fence and paths
    6. Will there be dungeons other than the mine
    7. Can you own your own shop
    8. Is there any action or decision you can make that will actually change the mood of your environment almost permanently such is
      1. Quit farming
      2. Become hated
      3. Elected as a new mayor
      4. Charged for animal cruelty
    9. Are there different set of clothing you can have
    10. Is there such place for you to collect other item like food, mushroom, etc like in a mountain or a beach
    11. Will there be even more diversity in livestock allowing catering of animal like
      1. Not resource pets like cats or iguanas
      2. Alpaca, Illama and Suffolk sheep
      3. Beekeping and fish pond
      4. Horse, donkey, and mules
      5. Turkey, Duck, Geese
      6. Wild animal like penguin, koala, giraffe, etc
    12. Which came first? the chicken or egg
      1. I mean is animal reproduction exist? can egg hatch? can mammals get pregnant?
      2. Can animal get diseased and dies if not being treated
    13. Some industrial tools to make yarn, mayonnaise
      1. If there a cheese/wine making will they be realistic and takes actual time and procedure
      2. Do we get to butcher animal like pig, cow, and chicken
    14. Is there even a possibilities where you get to eat meat product like steaks
    15. Do you, Npc, and animal ages
    16. Is there a randomly generated NPC in there such is using facial and appearance based generator
    17. Do the game gets more interesting and different as time goes by or it just be as it is
    18. Do the game really gonna get crossover character from starbound/RoR/wanderlust
I know that this game is still in development, but i hope to see ape's response to this as to know what is to be expected and what is not to be expected.

      1. Yes to a point. 10 candidates, 5 male 5 female. They all swing both ways. Adoption is a thing as is natural births.
      2. Unsure how to answer as it is based on HM and games like it.
      3. Yes. Farming, Foraging, Mining, Combat and Fishing are the 5 skills you have. Each has 10 levels with major branching perks at 5 and 10.
      4. Fictional world.
      5. There is cooking.
      6. Yes.
      7. No.
      8. No.
      9. No-ish. There is a way to change your look in game and you can wear different hats. However, you don't have different outfits or sets of clothes.
      10. Yes there are several locations to forage around.
      11. Yes you get a non resources pet fairly early on. You can get a horse, cows, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and slimes.
      12. The easy answer is the chicken first but I think you can get an egg and then go from there.
      13. Yes
      14. No steaks but you can cook hamburgers.
      15. Nope.jpeg
      16. Nope.jpeg
      17. Up to you to decide. Too subjective a question.
      18. Haven't heard about that.

All the answers provided above are to the best of my knowledge. Any inaccuracies are the fault of the underpants gnomes.

The game was released on the 26th February 2016, and is available to purchase on Steam, GOG or Humble. While there is still some development going on, all the things you have asked about there are answers for from the community.

          1. Not all NPCs are marriage candidates, after all some are already in relationships or a simply not into you in that way.
1a. Yes same sex relationships are possible, and these couple can still adopt children.
1b. All the marriage candidates appear of a similar age to the protagonist.
1c. While some have jobs I do not believe any run a store.
1d. They are all human, but 'essential' is very subjective in a game like this.

          2. Have not played any of the titles. However, from the way the developer describes it they are similar games in a different setting.

          3. There are different skills (farming, fishing, foraging, combat, mining) and there is an interface to show you your level, but no experience bar I have found which shows how close you are to the next level.

          4. Every 5 levels on the different skills you get a choice between two perks depending on your personal preference. This means not all characters will be the same. These are things such as adding benefits from catching fish or using crab pots depending on which you do most.

          5. This is mildly fantasy world, so there are vague references to real life events. They are only references in a very general sense, such as Easter like celebrations nothing like the Easter eggs of other games which refer blatantly to pop culture or the like.

          5. There is cooking, and there is a range of construction for items but not buildings. There is no blacksmithing that can be done by the player.

          6. Just mines, no dungeons currently.

          7. You can not run your own store.

          8. You can quit farming, or never start. You can choose to concentrate on the other areas of your character instead. However, there are no other fundamental shifts to the world that I have come across.

          9. There are hats, lots of lovely hats. Also boots.

          10. There is the main town area, the beach, desert, and mines.

11a. You can have a pet cat or dog.
11b. There are sheep though I do not think the breed is specified!
11c. There are bees, there is a pond though you do not stock the fish, these can be caught though.
11d. Horses are in the game.
11e. Ducks are in the game.
11f. No strange animals currently, it is a farm not a zoo.

12a. Chickens come first. It is possible to breed mammals, though I have yet to work out how, something I will be looking into in the future.
12b. Animals do not appear to die but they do appear to stop producing if they are not happy.

13a. There is cheese and wine however, these have no process. You simply place the appropriate ingredients into the appropriate machine (churn/keg) and wait.
          13b. There is no butchery.

          14. There is no butchery.

          15. Animals do age slightly. They start of as youngsters and then become producing animals, however they do not appear to age beyond that.

          16. The NPCs all have set looks.

          17. Personal opinion, I like the variety of things to do. However, are you asking if there is a sudden shift in game play or something entirely new suddenly opens. No, that does not occur.

          18. Not seen anything of the like.
