Just picked up this game to play with my GF but she gets so much lag the game is unplayable. She has a laptop but it exceeds the requirements listed on steam.

I have spent the past few days tinkering with compatibility mode and many other things to no avail.
I am curious if anyone else is having these problems

Try playing in full screen without the Steam overlay on. I have i5, 8 gigs memory and an SSD but I still get framerate dips, though it's not that consistent.

Here is the dxdiag, it does have a mobile graphics chip, but my other laptop with a mobile graphics chip does just fine
    It is a laptop.

  5. MrVauxs

    MrVauxs Giant Laser Beams

Try to run the game 800x600 resolution
Most games have much better perfomance in this mode

    PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!
I had to disable VSYNC in the starbound config file located at:

    C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\storage

    Open the starbound.config file there

    ctrl+f: search for sync

Change the TRUE after vsync to FALSE

    ctrl+s: save it

This worked for me maybe it will help you. I saw this fix before but never expected it to work =|
