I don't like that until the very late game (tier 10) it's pretty unrewarding to set up a base/build a castle. you're gonna have to leave it behind and there's no really a point in coming back to galaxies of lower tier. besides, when you leave for another planet you are likely going to scavenge all your stuff (crafting table, anvil etc.).

in a way your only permanent home is your ship, but it's too small to really customize it, and you can't change it's appearance so much.

beds are underpowered. it takes like 10 minutes to regenerate 500 hp. players should be rewarded if they get an higher tier bed.

''leveling up'' is not as rewarding as terraria. all the craftable weapons are the same, no matter tier 1 or tier 10. I'm getting bored of the 2h hammer but it's simply the best. the grapling hook is a joke. its a lot quicker to make a dirt ladder. in this regard, all dungeons are kinda broken. you can just dig through and get to the chest. to fix this, I think all dungeons should have disabled first plan digging and block placing. this way you'd have to actually maneuver through it with energy dashes and grappling hooks.

the NPCs don't actually *do* anything. it would be so cool if when you get to a town of NPCs they'd give quests and storyline and whatnot. what the quest log for is there for again?

the sector X is a mess. the most rewarding strategy is too avoid combat altogether. get to a lvl 5 planet, load up on aegistalt (mining straight down and avoiding caves. it's actually very quick to get a lot of it). disregard all weapons and armor until tier 10. when loaded up on aegistalt it's straight to a tier 10 planet, and same thing. dig straight down until you have enough ores to craft all techs then everything because useless apart rubium.

it was also pretty anticlimatic the first time I got deep enough to find the sea of lava and realise there's nothiong to do about it. terraria's deepest level was a lot more interesting.

I know I focused on the negative points. obviously if I have 60 hours of gameplay it obvious I actually enjoyed the game, so there's that. I think it makes more sense to discuss the things to improve rather than whats already working.

Quests are in progress, tier X is supposed to be an unfinished mess ATM until the tiers are finalized, and the lava is a feature (though I agree, maybe it could be improved, though the real purpose is to block you from the bottom of world rendering).
Dungeons being undiggable at first was planned, so hopefully they can implement it. Also, they need better loot in a lot of dungeons (the ones with high-tech chests are fine, the rest are boring, as the only real loot is stimpaks and weapons from baddies)

Matanui3 pre-empted most of what I was going to say, yeah...

I agree about the grappling hook, it's pretty useless (apart from the hilarious buggy shit you can pull off with it). It's defunct as soon as you find Gravity Bubble or Butterfly/Bubble Boost.

I also agree that the melee weapons need a lot more variety.

Most of the rest of the things are "Work in progress".

It doesn't even succeed at this, you can just place blocks in it (I like to use snow, or ice!) and then dig through that until you reach the bottom.

"Cold" planets (moons, really) should have undiggable centres instead of lava.

The tentacle planets should have unspeakable monstrosities down there instead.

You're going to be able to warp to your home planet without actually flying there in the future.

oooh I like this so much. if every planet had a unique ''final feature'' either horizontaly (to the far right or left from the spawning point, maybe some kind of ocean like terraria) or in the deeps. tentacle biome is definitely my favourite but it's a bit of a let down that's apart from the background and music it has nothing else than the other biomes.
