I only found out about that last night... i agree that there really should be warnings given ahead of time. However, I do know that the reason for the move was because we initially moved to get more speed, and the host was not living up to expectations. After a couple weeks of outages and bumps, intradox had enough.

ETA: And sorry for not putting up the new contest post. I'm having a personal crisis, but I DID get the green light (it's a custom title for the winner!) and I'll write out that post as soon as I can, probably about 18-24 hours from now. The deadline isn't until April 30th, so you will all have loads of time. Sorry for the delay.

Sounds like either Infradox banned me without my knowledge or he forgot to let me back onto the site.

 

Yeah, you were banned dude :[ you racked up a ton of infraction points during your short stay with us. I'm not exactly sure who finally swung the ban hammer.

But meh, i can understand why i suppose.
EDIT: Though it would have been nice for him to just send me an email saying "You've been banned for the following reasons:". Not saying he HAD to but still, would have been a nice gesture.
EDIT2: Reminds me of a saying "The news ain't fun if YOU'RE the news". Never knew what it meant until now.
Can't say though i would have done differently if i was in Infradox's position. After all, you have to set a standard.

 

We did have to dish out multiple infractions over a plethora of useless and derogatory posts. You had to have known what was coming. We strongly dislike resorting to bans, but it was my understanding that that same behavior had you removed from this forum as well.

That's actually what i find funny. I go onto the site, and i have like 12 inbox messages.
Odd how that works. But as you said what's done is done. That still doesn't stop me from being sore about it. And don't worry, i won't flip out like last time, i've found a much more creative use for my misplaced anger.
Serial killing. Far easier than thinking of arguements. Thinkings for sissy's, serial killing is where it's at now.

About the error last night, I guess it doesn't matter much, as I had to go to bed anyway. It just confused me and I'm glad the universe is restored again!

About the ban. So far, I haven't seen Earic do much harm, but as I haven't followed him around or something like that, I can't judge in this case. You seem like a nice guy, but as you don't het banned quickly you must have made it pretty bad :s

It's a personal saying as so far every time i've raged i've been drawn to write. Before it was type out mean stuff. ETC ETC, so i'm not suprised.

Writing off your anger is agood way to lose your anger, but it's too bad if we get hit by it... Maybe you could type your anger away in word, insulting the paperclip that used to help out
It would be good to find something else to let it all out.

 

I have a self read novel that i made in a Starbound setting but laying my problems with rage onto him.
And yes, it would be best. I've already apoligised to the community on a thread (Don't remember which). So i won't repeat myself.
It's more a matter of pride that i let my rage get the better of me, as i feel no need to explain myself to anyone because to be frank i simply don't care what people think of my rage problem any more.

 

I cannot speak for Intra as to why he didn't notify on the host change. The reasoning I've heard was just general dissatisfaction with the performance of the now-prior host. Inconvenient, sure....but glad that he isn't just taking substandard hosting and letting it ride.

What do you mean change? Nothing is changing that I am aware of. What is your concern?


As for the ban.....blu left the door open for redemption....and I'd assume that the path to that destination would be paved with actions that are not consistent with what landed you at this point. SBF is trying to be less strict with stuff like this.....and the fact that they remain open minded is quite nice. If the goal is a mutually-respectful, fun community....all I can say is to examine your past actions for consistency with that goal. Honestly, I never tracked you closely enough to say for sure what broke the camel's back.

Hopefully, you take that offer seriously and are redeemed - would be quite cool to see. 8)

See, my problem is my rage, and my rage is my problem. What i mean is i have a rage problem but i should only let myself have to deal with it, but i failed in doing so and got banned.
My current method of rage confinement works. For now.
Tommorrow, or next week, or maybe next month but sometime i swear i'll snap. And then i'll be banned. And so and so forth. I have accepted my problem and my most likely fate but doesn't stop me from having low self-exteem.
EDIT: Just realised that i'm making this about me, so on topic:

As someone else who used to suffer from a pretty intense temper....it can be controlled, but only with a ton of patience and perseverence.

I wish you luck on that journey.

Ok, back on topic...like I edited into my last post, the newest SBF contest has been added to the OP.

 

I know ALL about rage issues... the trick is to not misplace it. I took the brute of a lot of misplaced anger I didn't deserve growing up, and for a while it passed on to me and I reacted poorly. As an adult, I've learned how to better deal with my anger when I get it, to keep my fuse long and cool, and to not let it get lit so easily in the first place. It's not an easy transition. At the very least, distraction or productive ventilation are both great methods. I find focusing on art or lines of code helps me, some people would rather look at lolcats.... whatever floats your boat .

On that note, I'd like to focus some of my rage regarding the weak economy and lousy jobmarket into an entry for my contest, but alas... as the mod running it, I can not enter.

 

You can draw something for me and I'll enter it for you.

Finding that effective outlet is crucial.

So, anyway...outside of the big stuff here at OSB, does any member here have anything particularly cool that they thing the folks over at SBF should see? I'd love some organic community suggestions on top of the announcements (which I already follow)

Help please.

 

I appreciate both of your concerns, it's somewhat touching that there's someone (Well some PEOPLE) i can relate to. I thank you both for that.
I'd also be interested as to your drawings Blumchen (Or Lady Blumchen), i think it might be a good pass time to "Examine" your artistic "Talent".
