it's difficult to choose in particular, with the countless varieties out there... that being said I think I will choose a Splagoreth, Gintado, and Dalpidane Obviously. Duh

 

An alien invasion sounds too generic. What about resources on your home planet becoming so scarce that wars erupt fighting for these resources, eventually
leading to the human race practically imploding. I know it's still generic, but it's still much better than an alien invasion.

err it also depends on your species not all races will start on a human world.(that would be especially weird for a floren)

My bet? Sentient black hole. that roves around looking for things to eat, that being planets and solar systems.

honestly i hope that whatever destroyed our homeworld IS NOT the end boss, or even A boss, but just what got you started along and if you encounter it again in your travels, instant death. what i want is something unstoppable, a force of nature if you will, i mean what are you going to do to a black hole? or a nova/supernova? or a really really big rock?

I've taken the liberty of synthesizing some of the prevailing viewpoints, including arachnids, aliens, sentient black holes, and ordinary humans. (Excluding penguins.)

Wait... the evil destroys the player's home planet, but you can play ANY of six races... Does that mean ALL six home planets get destroyed?
Also, is your home planet the same as the planet where the entire species was born, (i.e. Humans -> Earth) or is it just the planet you were living on at the time?

Yeah, agreed. It was never said that it was any species' homeworld, just your character's home planet. So, with that being said, it could have just been a few hundred people on the planet even, or thousands, millions, billions...
