Closed Universe (mostly) reset after computer lost power

I dunno if this is really a "crash report" because the game didn't crash... my computer just powered down.

I had just teleported down onto an arid planet in the beta sector, and I think I must have been there 3 or 4 minutes before my laptop shut down without warning because the battery lock was unlocked (for some reason it waited like an hour past startup to do this... while sitting on a table... thanks laptop). This was a really sudden, complete power-down while the game was running, so I don't know if it was even logged, but I'll post my log for good measure: http://tny.cz/61c740d4

When I opened Starbound and loaded my main character, my ship, ship inventory included, was restored to the way it starts, with just a weapon and a flashlight and the matter manipulator. My universe was reset as well, and my home world is gone. All I have left is what was on my person (armor, inventory, hotbar). Super tragic, but I guess I'm gonna lose it all to a wipe soon anyway, so no big I suppose.

Same happened to me, im on a laptop from my father which in many weeks i have been using has powered off by itself at most 2-3 times with this one, and now i lost everything on the ship, but my planet is all as i left it, im sure its not a wipe as my char has the menus of Tier 2 and i had just defeated the ufo penguin, and i had all my loot and stuff on the ship, just the plants on the planet, it would be good if someone knew a workaround or a way to fix this, or else just to let us know if it isnt, so we can just start over getting the stuff or anything thanks!

 

UPDATE: My starmap was also reset, and I cannot recover it. I've used the Starmap upgrade several times, and I still don't have the option of flying into the Beta sector. I'm stuck in Alpha. The upgrade item is also not consumed, and I can use it repeatedly. It plays the jingle and generates the upgrade message every time.

Its a serious bug which should be solved ASAP
If your game in any way exits while saving a file. That file instantly becomes corrupted and becomes a FAIL file. "check your starbound folder, namely "universe" and "player"
If you spot a FAIL file, congratulations and welcome onboard brother... I feel ya.

there is currently no way to recover a FAIL file. Believe me, i have tried.

 

Yea - I had the same problem twice on 2 different PC's

Once the PC chrashed (Starbound wasn't the reason) and once it chrashed while I was switching to fullscreen mode.

On both times everything was lost, except the things I had in the characters storage.

As quick workaround, I backup the files in ./player and ./universe from time to time. So you'll still have a point to continue ...
This method can also be used if you want to play the same story on 2 PC's (Home and Laptop)

 

This just happened after a BSOD due to the fact that people can't write half-decent drivers for their hardware -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
