Artyom helps her drag the body, using his body as cover for her. 'Get in cover, Elsie! Where the fuck did that come from!?'

 

Elsie charges up her revolver, before walking over to Lem....and shooting her point blank in the face

'What the FUCK!' Artyom shoots Elsie point blank in the hand holding her gun, the chest, the face, and the knee. He finishes dragging Veil before going back for Lem.

 

the blaze soldiers begin mounting themselves at defensive locations.
"That's Solus... The Sun Scorcher... Penguin, you'll need to use that knife of yours."
The penguin nods and climbs into his guardian...

Everyone else goes down save for Aüslēir, who was struck twice in the chest and is bleeding severely, and the hylotl, who is damaged in the arm. Iatallia is dead. Iactus is in critical condition from several chest wounds. Bloodbeak is incapacitated by a head wound.

 

"Right, keep forgetting about that. It is good I have you as my voice of sober second thought." Surge glowers at Solus. "Damn, there is not much I can do against that."

You can see the firey being charging in, wielding a glowing yellow katana, followed by many armored blaze cultists.

You manage to load a round just in time for a very angry Sallok to round the corner of the cover and tackle you to the ground... Tears streaming from her eyes...

Thankfully, a sniper round leaves a gaping hole in the side of her head, and she collapses on top of you...

Drawing his sword, and checking to make sure he remembered the soulsteel knife, Surge starts his march towards the cultists.

 

Artyom takes a last glance at the carnage, then grabs Garret's hand.

 

Allestar tries to slow his breathing as he extends his wings

Elsie tries to push Sleira's corpse off of herself as she charges up her revolver. She fires at Artyom

 

"Enough is enough." A fairly tall-for-his-species kineptic stands before them where there was once nothing.
"Nepaomi, it's time to come home. Things are about to get much, much worse out here. I'm even calling back Nyudefra." he says as he gestures to an extremely tall lavender and white kineptic, towering over him at 4'1".

Nepaomi jumps out of the backpack without hesitation and floats over to him. "But what about everyone else? What about Garret?"

"No one else here is within my jurisdiction. As for Garret, I sent you out here to reach out to him, but he did not listen. In doing so, he will endure what is to come."

Nepaomi looks back at the others. "Allestar... If you see Ausleir... or Jareix... let them know I'll miss them, okay?"

The fighting begins as cultists are mowed down by the gunfire, and the solus guardian is confronted by Ocu's,
But he is quickly dispatched as the flesh is cooked by the immense heat just by getting close. The guardian swiftly separates ocu, before ripping the blaze soldier out of the guardian...
You yourself are met with much opposition from the cultists, as you are not in a guardian.

One bullet strikes your flank, and another your arm.

You feel something strike your chest as you return to the feeling of disembodiment.

Your breathing in this new form is taxing and alien. You manage to recover enough to keep upright, but your wings don't have quite enough room to spread. You suddenly watch as is spirited away...

The captain looks absolutely terror stricken, his aged face paling with fear...
"He abandoned us... He... He left us to die..."
He drops his rifle with a clatter...
"We are doomed..."

The bolt manages to catch him right before they vanish... The soldiers coming up to help you up... They drag the still crying Sallok away, and leave the bodies of Veil and Lem...

 

Kiro laughs at them and brandishes the scythe menacingly. "You're all weak, why would I do as you say?"

"No..." Silverclaw gasps and fumbles with his pack, looking for bandages or something to aid him.

 

Allestar nods his head solemnly

" Gotcha..... Hey, Uh.... don't forget us. "

Elsie accepts their help, before holstering her revolver and mumbling

" I don't want to be weak anymore. "

 

"I asked you once to surrender; I was willing to let you live. Yet now you march to kill me; it is only fair that I respond in kind." Gripping his sword with both hands, Surge rushes the nearest cultist, with an overhead swing for the skull.

The one who is apparent to be the head guard steps forwards, momentarily glancing at your scythe before quickly looking up at your face to address you. 'We, we outnumber you, so just, uh, just give u-' He stops, mouth gaping open seemingly in surprise as he is interupted by a throwing knife sprouting from the side of his head. The rest of the guards turn, another one getting hit in the eye before one more is speared through the chest with a thrown naginata. An apex rushes into view, gray and mottled fur a blur as he hefts a body, using it as a shield. The bullets of the other men impact their fallen friend, as the apex advances, wrenching his naginata from the chest of the collapsed, gurgling man. He continues forwards, the body being reduced to mush until he reaches the next guard, stabbing with the naginata and impaling him. The apex continues, systematically and thoroughly tearing through the ranks, until the few men left drop their guns and run, terrified. The apex turns to you, dropping the ruined body and spattered in blood. 'Are you Kiro?' He says in a low, gravelly voice.

Artyom let's himself go, just at the last moment remembering to close his eyes. I knew that bitch wasn't trustworthy...

 

"..." Tears run down his cheeks. He tucks his left paw into his vest and removes the pseudoglove, allowing it to drop out into his right glove. He holds it out to Allestar. "You're the only person here who could possibly make use of this. Garret made it; ask him about it and how it's used."

He steps back between the two taller kineptic. "I won't forget you all, ever. Good luck. Garret, I don't know if you can hear me, but... goodbye."

Space itself seems to rip open behind the three of them. With a loud noise not unlike that of a crack of thunder, they are gone.

 

Allestar takes the glove in his claw. He tries to get used to his new body as quick as he can

" Thanks. Now... Don't we have some work to do? "
