"It's got a fence with a dangerously high amperage and goes down very deep... I have no idea how we're going to get out..."

 

"If you look through it, you should see a different biome to the one we are standing in. If no one is watching you, you will also go there. However, if the picture is fuzzy, it simply will not work."

 

"Let's just hope the entire city isn't overrun with them."

 

He looks through it, before letting out a squawk of surprise.
"Those 're some ugly treeses..."

You hear the sound of an explosion up above...
"That can't be good..."

You suddenly shake and your ears ring as a loud explosion sounds through the air. Looks like they are trying to blow their way in...

 

'Well, at least we know that they haven't gotten in to the lab yet. I know it's unlikely, but is there a self destruct procedure in place for this facility?' He turns to Veil.

 

"Hm, so it does work for you? If you see the flesh trees, we have no need to go there." Surge points at the guardian from the flesh biome. "Been there, done that. We have other places to check."

 

Elsie covers her ears as she shakes her head

" AAH! "

 

"Thank Herrin' we don't have to go theres. They were starin' right at me!"

Veil seems to be a bit dazed by the explosion... Elsie can't hear him over the ringing, but Artyom can.
"WHAT?! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

 

"No worries, if they can see you, you cannot go there. If it does not make sense, I do not think logic has a place here."

 

"Ne'r been one for logic... Hell, frosty here 's probablys th closest thing I've got to something like home... It's an odd feeling, having knees and all, but I like it..."
He says stroking the icy creature.

 

"Garret gave me a pseudoglove that doesn't run off of my body's own energy. I can't directly manipulate things, but I can deflect them and disrupt them." He pokes his head out of the backpack and over the captain's shoulder. "Rocket propelled grenades and similar weapons should be within the realms of what it can deflect. Bullets might carry a bit too much piercing power."

 

Artyom mimes out, 'Do you have big bomb?'

 

"So, you need no convincing. If you also posses one of those spheres, perhaps you would care to join me on a trip to the 'other side'?"

Silverclaw's jaw tightens, he flexed his steel claws slightly.

 

The captain looks like he's about to reply, when you hear a third explosion, this time from down the tunnel. Followed by gunfire and shouting... Behind you, a similar case... He and the other guards ready their weapons...
"Allestar... If you've got an ace up your sleeve, now might be a good time..."

He rubs out his ears.
"Do I-"
You never hear the end of his sentence before a sniper billet rips through his skull... He dies before his body hits the floor.
"VEIL!"
Lem goes over to him and tries to drag him back behind cover. Garret quickly takes out a glass jar and catches... Something... Before returning to cover behind the vent. You hear another explosion. This time some ways off behind the building...

"Fine by me when do-!?"
You all turn toward the entrance. The sound of a thunderous roar echoes through the air...
"No..."

You hear the sound of multiple police and military vehicles approaching...

They all stand and draw weapons as the Mayor fizzes out. A hologram...

You hear the sounds of boots stomping everywhere. There's too many to count. You are totally surrounded...
"I'm afraid this may not be a fight we can win... If I know my backstabbing greed bags well enough, this entire room is built against us..."
"Well, I won't be going down without a fight..."
"I won't be going down period..."
"I didn't come this far only to die like this..."
"I fear the worst may have yet to come..."
"Hey Aus... You capable of a berserker rage right now?"
"Then it'd be guaranteed we'd all die... These chains won't hold him forever, and I won't lie him out while terror has him in his grasp..."

 

"What is it this time? We do not have time for another distraction." Surge begins to look for the source of the roar; was it a guardian?

 

From the visible glow, it is in fact a guardian... Most likely the katana wielding fire guardian...
This is quickly proven by the immense column of fire that looks to have evaporated a large amount of the river, leaving the banks very dry, and a burning hole in the wooden defenses of the camp.

 

"Short of Nyudefra miraculously showing up, I've got nothing. I'm still got no less than an hour before what I ate is sufficiently metabolized. I know you weren't talking to me, but I still felt like I had to say something."

 

"Then do your best to stay alive... You're obviously a prime target of these agents, so you new to get out of here in one piece..."
