"Ah, Pai Mei, glad you could join us. Who to bring... First off, I have one thing I need to get." Surge walks back into the tree, ignoring what argument was no doubt still raging on to retrieve his bag that he no doubt left there before the trip to the flesh biome.

 

He raises his glove for permission to speak.

 

It was in fact still there...

They all turn to look at you with their uncanny stares...

 

Surge grabs his bag, and heads back out. "Sorry for the diversion. So, I know what I need to do; and I doubt bringing any of the others will help us. I am sure they will keep up their petty argument until the light fades."

 

"Um. Hi. So... I just want to say sorry to any of you I may have offended or snubbed in the past. Nothing personal... okay, it was at the time, but not quite as much anymore. A-anyway, I was there when Terror ate Lust. Well, slightly after, maybe. When I got there, he was in what looked like a subway. He cut off my paws and tried to eat my soul, too, but the Guardian stopped him until Death's successor got me out of there. One of my gloves was missing when I woke up, and I think he might have it. I'm not sure how worried you should be about that; nothing but a kineptic has ever used them with the exception of a lone avali having a single, special glove. What I'm saying is: I don't think he'd be able to use it. Maybe. I suppose there's a possibility, but it's not like he's got Knowledge's... knowledge... to figure out how it works... speaking of which, I could really use your help, Mr. K; my loaded modules got corrupted when Terror cut off my paws. A non-demigod ark suggested I go back in there to snag Lust's lexicon so her soul could regenerate from it. As much as I'm at odds with her, I'll do it to put Terror in his place."

Artyom lays back on the ground. 'Somebody bag that up, I need to rest for a second.' He pulls out the flask and drinks from it.

 

Clair leans up against a wall and waits. The felin looks over to the two of them. "What is your guys' name, by the by? I don't think I ever caught it."

 

"Cultist? I'm not a bloody cultist!l

 

"Let's go, should never send a cat to do a fish, and bird job."

 

"Then I suppose we best leave..."
"Not without us you aren't!"

"Did you consider the posibility that Garret just didn't grab it in time before leaving?"
"I wouldn't know what Terror would do with the glove... He may have no use for it at all... As for your module, I'd have to see what I can do... I'll send my avatar your way after this meeting..."
"Wait, did you say "non-demigod" ark? How do you mean by that?"
"Oh come now Bliss, you remember back when the ark weren't all like us?"
"I've always preferred thinking of us as the last of our kind... Even though that isn't true in the slightest..."
"Especially considering how many bloody offspring you all produce..."

You feel refreshed...
Stout goes over and seals it in a thick glassed container.
"This thing can contain incredibly volatile substances, even during reactions... I think it can hold an ark..."

"Dloskol Talison."
"Forgeson Talison."
You watch on the holovision as a black hovercar pulls up to the scene. Jareix/Ausleir stepping out dressed in a leather vest and mechanic's equipment, followed by a strange bird-dinosaur creature, and finally Nepaomi...

"Then explain to me why your back is regenerating..."

"Let's go in then..."

 

Surge turns to face the new voice. "Are you sure? You seemed to be quite absorbed by your... 'discussion'."

 

"We've made our choice to help you out..."
"It's not like we have a choice... The agents are demanding it..."

 

Surge tilts his head quizzically. "They are? Hm. Did you not once ask yourself why that was the case?"

 

"Thanks Knowledge." He looks at the big red voice. "You're Ruin, right? I thought about that, but it doesn't make sense; I have both of my paws, and that means he picked both of them up. My paws would have still been in them, so one of the gloves must have been removed. Whether it's Terror who has it or not, I'm not certain... maybe he just didn't want to be left... empty handed." He giggles quietly. "As for the demigod thing, I guess it's just for lack of better term."

 

"I think I figured it out... Pai Mei is the champion of Ruin after all..."
"You... Ugh, how can you not tell that the guy that's been ripping and tearing through the guardians is the Champion?! I'm retired!"
"That would make more sense now that you mention it..."

"Is there any reason other than the modules you would come to this meeting Nep?"

 

He starts counting on his gloves. "Modules, Terror has glove, make lame joke... did I ask if anyone knew where lusts's lexicon was? I feel like I did but it wasn't addressed. The current plan right now is for me to dive back in there and pluck the lexicon out to safety. Well, that's the high level plan. How exactly I'm going to do that is up in the air." He shrugs nervously. "I'm also just kinda sleeping 'cause I'm tired and a bit shaken. I did just stare Terror in the face, you know."

 

"We wouldn't really know the exact location of the lexicon... That's not the sort of thing you share with others... Sure we can guess the general area being within that subway, but still... As for how to retrieve it, i wouldn't know unless I have all of the facts, and I mean the important ones... I can send you a floorplan of the subway, but that's about all I can do..."

 

Surge shakes his head; the cat was out of the bag now. "I was worried I was fairly obvious about it. Did not know you still missed the mark; but yes. I am the campion of Ruin. make of that what you will."

 

'Let's just get it to someone to question it already.' Artyom stands up, a bit wobbly from the head shot wound, and makes his way to the elevator exit, climbing up and prying open the doors.
