Uncommon (green) 26DPS weapon in alpha sector

Is this intended?

I found a prison on a random alpha sector planet, florans were being guarded by grunts with firearms. I pushed a button on a console that opened all the doors & they proceeded to slaugther one another.

They looted a bunch of melee weapons among which was a 2H fire hammer 26dps the description of which said "uncommon tier 2 weapon".

Said weapon feld way too strong for alpha sector content, is this intended?

Tier2 items dropping in Tier1 content is the point. I'll try to be more concise next time. . . .

 

When you find a rare drop, sometimes it's a tier above. That's what makes rare drops so great. Same thing in Diablo, Borderlands, and Starbound.

 

26 DPS on a T2 weapon is fine, I found a common T2 weapon in a penal colony that gave me 123 DPS.

I don't think they have balanced any of the items above common rarity. I think this latest patch just made the common weapons more balanced. I have found several Legendary and Rare weapons that are simply outclassed by the default starting weapon. I'm sure it will all be balanced in time.

 

Then it must just be an extremely good drop. Good show!

 

First Tier2 weapon you can craft is 27 DPS, felt weird for Tier1 to drop a 26DPS weapon with which i lawnmowed the alpha sector. Best uncommon tier 1 weapon i got was a 16DPS fire hammer & suddenly that Tier2 26 DPS one.

 

Assuming it is not a bug, but merely an extremely rare drop, then it should feel like that. If, instead, you didn't get anything more than a 7DPS bubble sword, you'd likely feel similar just in reverse, eh?

 

And raise the same question: working as intended or no?

 

Seems to me that it is working perfectly fine, given I've yet to get such a good drop and was stuck with that bubble sword for all of the alpha sector. Randomized loot generation leads to such silliness.
