This thread is going to contain all the tools from the original compendiums along with all the others i come up with - Index - 1. Grappling Beam2. Night Vision Goggles3. Psychic Boots4. Porta-Kitchen5. Building Buddy 500 Note: Food system can be found here: http://forums.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/uncle-shades-mechanics-compendium.752/ ------------------------------------------ 1. Grappling Beam Now, i'm a huge metroid fan, and i loved the heck out of Super Metroid. So why not have a grappling beam? Of course I wouldn't want it to be like the one in Super Metroid. Personally i was thinking of something along the lines of: a) Allows the user to grapple any sort of terrainb) Allows the user to swing in the direction he/she wishesc) Allows the user to ascend and descend at willd) Slightly Illuminates the area around it (I mean come on... it is a beam...) 2. Night Vision Goggles So i'm pretty sure we're bound to find ourselves in some sort of dark place. This is where these puppies come in! This fine pair of goggles allows you to see clearly in a medium sized area around your character. All of it will appear in a green color. However you'll be blinded if you suddenly find yourself in a brighter place, so take caution when using them! 3. Psychic Boots The technology imbued within these boots allow the player to float by increasing his/her brain's psychic capabilities! While they're equiped they temporarily allow the player to float over holes and fluids. They also reduce fall damage by 50% 4. Porta-Kitchen Allows you to mix herbs, vegetables and meat into food. Can Convert Meat Type Leftovers into Stews. Can Convert Vegetable Type Leftovers into Soups.Extra Herbs can be used with water to make Tea. There is a small chance that the food will explode in the cooking process, leaving the player with a lump of charred food, and a charred face as well. Percentages are as follows: Liquids: 0%Spicy Food: 10%Remaining Food: 5% 5. Building Buddy 500 The building buddy pretty much looks like a gun, but doesn't function as one. Then what the hell does it do? Simple, You arm it with stacks of any kind of blocks you want, and then shoot. By shoot i mean you aim it at a solid base and use it. It will then create a "phantom" line of blocks, once used again it will place the blocks its armed with (provided that you have enough) in the same disposition as said phantom line. You can also place walls in a designated area by using the right mouse button. When used this way the tool will allow you to join "phantom" lines into an area, and will proceed to place the blocks it's armed with in the background (again, provided you have enough) ------------------------------------------
Wow nice ideas. I espically like the grappling beam because its like the futuristic version of the grapling hook and it would go well with this game.
Love the ideas, especially the grapple beam! looked at your other threads too and like them! I hope to see your ideas incorporated into the game!
Glad you liked them: Note: I'll be editing both the porta-kitchen and the food system in order to add food sizes and leftovers
How Does Chef's equipment sold by the Chef NPC sound? Liquids are the only items that don't explode (Tea included)
Added the Building Buddy 500 to the list. Forgive the poor description but i'm extremely sleepy due to some java code that's due tomorrow. I pretty much thought of this item because placing walls in terraria was absolute hell for me . _. -bump- well i suppose i should start bumping my threads and asking for opinions, starting with this one
Maybe the healthier food you eat, the better your psychic because it helps your brain function better like, vegetables.
