  5. DrMFoster7

    DrMFoster7 Void-Bound Voyager

    Character Name: Corvos Bleuc

    Character Race: Apex

Character General Info: At the age of twenty nine, known as rather mellow and free formed with his attitude, though not to a degree of being idiotic or just random and commonly rambles on when on the subject of scientific advancement of the realm of the Big Ape.
Character Description: Standing at 5Ft 7in he is covered in brown fur and gray skin, He commonly has on a laboratory coat and has his beard in the most pristine condition he can, as it is, at least in his opinion, the second greatest quality of him, right behind his position as a researcher in the apex scientific force.

Character Biography: Born on a snowy landscape deep inside a simple population colony, his early life was filled with the presence of armed guards and symbols of the Big Ape's vision upon all. This was not only his form of protection, but his comfort as well. Keeping close to his overlord's symbols gave him a feeling only that of a strict parent could give. With all intentions, he was enveloped in the idea that Big Ape was essentially another father to him, but one who could always look over him, even as Corvos had never seen him in person. Or seen his image at all in fact, though he never questioned why the Big Ape never appeared on the Big Ape channel.

Later on in his life he was not only inspired by the animals that roamed his ice ball of a planet, but was genuinely interested in their odd way of survival, void of dependance on the Mini Kong or the people of his colony. What pressed him though it that if he himself was injected with a hyper evolutionary fluid, what would happen if they were as well.

Corvos was hired as a field biologist, given a ship and a cause he took flight from the colony of his home for a life of planetary exploration and biological sampling. His ambition though is based on the study of hyper evolution and its effects on outside races besides the apex. His dream is to successfully form a perfect evolutionary assimilation, a version of the injection that could turn members of other races into apex-like creatures that will also be enveloped in the Big Ape's grand family. For assimilation, is the only way to make one truly on your side.

  6. Shikyu

    Shikyu Orbital Explorer

    Character Name: Kontei Seinen

    Character Race: Floran

Character General Info: Kontei is a young Floran who is curious and cheerful. Kontei is not particularly masculine but refers to himself as a boy. Kontei is very connected to nature and sort of pacifist. He is slightly naive in this in a way and believes he should give anyone or anything a chance and the benefit of the doubt. This includes animals. He won't attack unless the animal is hostile and even then only if he needs to (like for pixels or meat). He won't try to avoid fighting if it's the only way to protect himself or something he cares about. Kontei is also respectful and tries to be polite, caring for others, as he dislikes having to be alone. He is moderately intelligent and learns quickly, especially through experience.

Character Description: Kontei has big round eyes and a messy leaf-do with a yellow flower on one side on top. On his chest is a bigger flower petal that comes down from his shoulder blades. His skin is a light pale green and his leaves a more vibrant green. He is slightly shorter in stature than an average fully-grown Floran, looking not quite completely mature with a juvenile leanness to him. His mouth is even with a spike on either side like little fangs, usually in the shape of a smile. His body is fairly unscathed with no visible scars anywhere.

Character Biography: Kontei woke up in a tree one day, the sun not quite in the middle of the sky anymore, beginning its descent over the horizon. It was clear to him he had been in that tree for more than a couple days as vines and other flora from the tree had long began growing over him. He woke with almost total amnesia of his past, only knowing his name. He didn't have any memories other than that, only remembering what he's learned or been taught. Kontei got up and explored the world he woke up on, hoping to find someone, confused and lonely with the total absence of knowledge about who or where or what he was. Eventually he found a crash-landed ship covered in veins. He observed that the landing was relatively soft on the craft and decided to make his way inside. When he entered and saw the control panel he felt a sort of instinctive knowledge come over about operating the ship. He sat in the captain's seat and started the spaceship up, flying into orbit. Kontei found that the ship had just enough fuel to enter orbit before it completely ran out. This is where his story begins.

  8. Neszy

    Neszy Void-Bound Voyager

    Character Name: Josef "Joe" Soltesz
    Character Race: Human
    Character General Info/Description:
Josef speaks in a guttural, half-American-half-European accent which belligerently fights its way from the tip of his tongue and attacks the very air it touches. At a glance his eyes look grey and harsh though under closer inspection streaks of blue position themselves like sunbeams around his iris. You assume that he must be the man in charge, though his clothing and unkempt nature challenges what appeared obvious. The top pocket of his worn leather jacket is branded with four letters: "U.S.C.M", and the dirty, once white shirt below bears the same letters alongside an unknown insignia across the sleeve. His black cargo pants are equally as worn and are tucked into a near-destroyed pair of combat boots; you would guess he is middle-aged though he looks as if he could be older. A single scar runs from ear to ear over the top of his head, obviously interrupting his otherwise garish green hair which has now begun to fade into grey at its roots. His face looks cold and pale as if it could have been carved from stone, though some black and grey stubble seems to have unwelcomely invaded his face. A ugly, crooked half-smile protrudes from this stubble and reveals another another small scar on his upper lip. He laughs.

    Character Biography:
Early Life: Born to a Hungarian father and an American mother, Josef grew up on one of many Human-controlled colonies and lived a sheltered, but comfortable existence. His mother worked full time to care for him and his Father - a Mathematician - lectured at a nearby University. Josef was tutored from a young age in order to keep him out of the public schooling system, and although an obviously bright and articulate child, Josef often became awkward and anxious around other children and would refuse to interact with anyone except for his family and tutors. This trend continued up into his teens until his parents - frustrated by Josef's behaviour - began forcing him to interact with others of his age. Past anxiety had now turned to anger, and a small difference of opinion led to Josef attacking the child. This violent trend continued as Josef - although charming and friendly to those he knew - would act irrationally aggressive towards anyone he didn't know.

At age 14 his parents sent him to a U.S Army Junior Academy in an attempt to fill his life with authority and structure - something he had never had before. The experiment worked... at first. At age 16 Josef got into a serious fight with another member of the Academy which left him with a fractured skull. He received emergency brain surgery and survived, albeit left with a large ugly scar over the top of his head. Josef underwent many tests to define whether or not he had any lasting problems, and it was at this point that the cause of his aggression was unveiled and Josef was diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder. Although a much more controlled and predictable person than before he attended the Junior Academy, Josef's moral compass was almost non-existent leaving him without much of a conscience. At age 18, Josef received an offer from the Junior Academy to join the United States Colonial Marine Corps as a result of his exceptional performance. He accepted.

Enlisted: Josef - like all who joined - struggled to keep up with the U.S.C.M's entry requirements. His mental condition was overlooked in favour of his physical ability and determination to complete a given objective: he would often willingly put himself or others in danger in order to complete a "mission". He was sent on his first field mission at the age of 21 after three years of intensive training and was the newest member in the crew of the Calpyso. His missions went well and despite his occasional recklessness, the crew would always complete their objective and had successfully paved the way for countless new Human colonies. He was slowly promoted through the ranks until the age of 29 when the U.A.A.C decided to put Josef in command of his own ship: Xamanth. Xamanth received an upgraded FTL drive capable of travelling far further from Old Earth in a single leap.

Xamanth quickly became one of the U.S.C.M's most heavily relied upon ships, sporting countless successful missions and often taking risks that many other ships wouldn't dare take. At age 32, Josef knowingly led three of his ship's crew into an ambush, killing them all but successfully dispersing danger for the rest of the crew. When questioned by the U.S.C.M, Josef's crew were clearly traumatised by the experience whilst Josef appeared nonchalant, stating that the mission had to be completed. He was temporarily discharged for two years and sent to a U.S.C.M controlled planet for psychological stabilisation before being put into the crew of another ship: Thanato.

The End: The Thanato - like all ships Josef was a crew member of - became extremely successful, although Josef's unpredictable nature was still a concern for the U.S.C.M. Although Josef was now 36 and a Sergeant Major within the U.S.C.M, he revelled in his ability to fight, and the feeling that he was helping to shape the future of the Human race. The risks Josef took were unfortunately about to come to an end as a dangerous mission left the Thanato overrun, giving Josef with no other option but to escape in a small and damaged ship docked by the Thanato. He watched as the Thanato was ripped apart by unknown, alien creatures.

No fuel. The thought crossed his mind that he could die in this ship, though with some careful rationing he could survive for some time. For the first time in many years, Josef was helpless, at the mercy of the depths of space. Three years passed in the isolation of his ship and Josef eventually found himself in orbit around a planet his ship believed to be Alpha Mu Ori 88 IV. Tired, he took some basic gear from the ship's storage and beamed to the surface, instantly falling to his knees as the planet's gravity pushed him to the ground. No fuel.

She is 27 years old , an expert with the bow and a master of the Samurai ways. 15. Gerrinator

    Gerrinator Starship Captain

    Character Name: Sparkus the Wanderer

Character Race: Unknown(I use a Glitch, but in RP he's a non-Glitch sentient robot created by ancient aliens)

Character General Info: He doesn't know where he comes from or why he exists, just that his name is Sparkus. He is kind-hearted, but can be extremely vengeful when it comes to that. He also has the personality of a human, and can feel depressed knowing he is the only one of his kind he knows and that there is no one who can aid him in his search of identity.

Character Description: A robot that looks like a cybernetic clone of an ancient humanoid. His body looks and acts very similar to that of a human. He has white glowing eyes the same is for a strange power supply embedded in his chest. His outer metal shell is made of a very light yet strong metal alloy.

Character Biography: Waking up in a desert with no memories of who created him or his purpose, Sparkus remembers only one thing: his name. Walking through a desert for many days and many nights, he finally comes across a village full of bird-like people from whom he steals a ship from. He begins his quest to find out who created him, and what his purpose was. Along his journey he experiences frightful unimaginable flashbacks. He begins to give up on discovering who he is and instead fights to protect others across the galaxy. He became very infamous in his adventures and is known about across the galaxy. He also became hated. The Apex want to salvage his body to reverse engineer him and the Hylotl believe he is a rebellious terrorist. But despite these false beliefs, he chooses to keep fighting for the rights of everyone else.

I really hope this gets accepted.

  16. TwistedVine

    TwistedVine Intergalactic Tourist

    Character Name: 'Naffi' Leaf-Whisper

    Character Race: Floran

Character General Info: The age of 22 in terms of human maturity. She is headstrong, quick to temper- though could barely pluck a flower, as her short fuse is simply a defense mechanism to isolate herself from perceivable threats. The self decided queen of bluffing, she tries to get by on her own- but is inevitably drawn to civilization, no matter how hard she pretends to be disgusted. She was raised to be harmless by bright and open-minded individuals, and as much as she wishes to be an introvert, she'll never be so.

Character Description: Lithe, lightly-clad and untamed, sometimes obscured by mud and dirt from hunting in the wild- unless on a civilized planet, where she puts forth an effort to dress for the occasion and cleanse herself.

Character Biography: Discovered as barely a sprout on the outer reaches of the galaxy by Apex scientists during a raid on a Floran village in order to prevent their growing threat to a nearby lab, she was unwittingly tricked into captivity- where she became the subject of research on the civil aspects of a 'more savage' Floran. She was granted very simplistic hobbies and entertainment, and evolved into being a sort of pet to the Apex scientists- not treated poorly, but given not a sliver of freedom. She was taught to the level of education an Apex child would have, and was physically and mentally conditioned to be harmless against an Apex; to prove to the skeptical head of research that Florans were not inherently violent and uncontrollable, and that they could be integrated in a united society.

However, during an experiment where the research subjects were allowed to roam free and interact with the scientists in a comfortable atmosphere, the lab was sacked by her native populace in an attempt to free her and the other Florans being raised in captivity. The complex was destroyed and despite the native's expectations that the captives would be grateful, she and the others fled into the wilderness from their violent counterparts. Before long, she discovered more Apex institutions- but was turned away with hostility by those she sought safety in. Many of the other research subjects were slain in this attempts. Discovering an abandoned Apex lander not far from the wreckage of her old home, she used her education in captivity in combination with her innate Floran adaptability and enabled it to run, leaving her on a posh-stitch quest to find a place in the galaxy where she wouldn't feel like such an alien.

Note: 'Naffi' was her pet name, though she seems to respond to it better than her native nomenclature.

(( Second attempt, more backstory depth without text-walling. I hope. Edited both here and on the Halcyon forums! ))

  17. Diethe

    Diethe Space Hobo

    Character Name: Khoril
    Character Race: Apex
    Age: 37

Personality: Khoril is a mistrusting and quiet Apex who used to serve the MiniKnog as a spy and informant. At first glance he might seem friendly and courteous, though it would take awhile before he truly puts his trust on others. He will always put his survival and his gains first before thinking of others. He always keeps to himself a lot of observations and quirks about places and people around him. Enjoying a little more freedom during his time stranded and the partial freedom he has gained, he has grown quite materialistic and greedy, and is out to profit for himself. He uses his intellect and cunning for his own means.

Perhaps his most defining trait would be how sneaky the apex is, and would usually steal from those lesser himself whenever he can that won't get him in trouble. He is quick and nimble, a trait the rascal had developed during his younger years in the slums where he used to live.

Description: Khoril is a dark-haired and unremarkable Apex whose always seems to blend in the crowd. He is of average height and if not seen wearing his specialist clothing he would wear civilian attire to blend in.

Character Biography: Khoril was born under the fist of the MiniKnog in a major Apex planet, with his mother and father being 'well-behaved' researchers. While they lived under hard and trying conditions, he was well provided with his needs by their hard work. He grew up under the care of his parents, who instilled in him values worthy of advancing the Apex race. While growing up in the educational institutions of the MiniKnog, Khoril was a playful rascal, and often hung out with the more playful bunch of his peers, climbing rooftops and generally ape-ing around. It was in one of these instances that they got into trouble and was strictly punished for breaking property. Growing up with the trauma of government punishment, once he became of age he enlisted as an Apex agent, rooting out those he would consider 'degenerates' wherever he can and doing the punishment himself.

Having served the MiniKnog for the majority of his life, it was during the Apex rebellion that Khoril served valiantly but was left stranded in unknown space. It was during this time that Khoril's journey truly began, where his survival instincts as an Apex would kick in and he would take for his own personal gain in a far away land. From thinking of the apex as a whole, Khoril has grown to think more and more of himself and his gains rather than serving his people. Whether or not he would still be the same apex once he has returned to Apex lands, time would only tell.

  18. Evangelion

    Evangelion Supernova

    Character name- Rin Natsume
    Character Race- Human

Character General Info/Description- Rin is donned deep blue eyes and light blonde hair, often fashioned in effeminate, ironically girly styles. She has pale yet fair skin, making many men under her concede to her position of power after initial skepticism. Though taking up a stern personality due to her line of work, every once and a while you may see a softer cute side betraying her attempts to act authoritative. She is currently twenty years old and still naive in many ways, yet growing up away from freedom and the modern side of things, she is usually dressed in traditional garb as a symbol to her heritage and loyalty to Japan. Due to being a part of the Natsume Clan, her Kimono is dyed a deep red to symbolize her clan's proud colors. Her body defined by a slim figure, helps naught to the predicament of gaining control over her ruthless career.

Character Biography- Since the day she was born, Rin had always been surrounded by the dark shadows of her clan. People moving behind the scenes, morally debatable actions being carried out... Little had she known, she was soon to be a part of it all. Her upbringing had been a vigorous one, forced to learn the way of the samurai in both body and mind. Her parents were rarely around to see her grow, always busy with tending to the clan's dark affairs. She had been raised by the masters of the clan, guiding her slowly towards being a true leader as her heritage demanded. By the time she reached 10, her training had become no easier. Political discussions, meetings of heavy planning, secrets revealed... She was soon coming to understand the true nature her clan and taking upon the needed knowledge to guide it. Heavily immersing herself in clan matters already, she had become a known figure throughout it by her late teens sparking controversy and debate. By the age of 18 she was coming closer to the time when the new clan head would be chosen. The clan had been divided, her father as the current leader would be among the group to accept Rin and choose her as the next in line. The other side, denied Rin and protested that a more suitable male figurehead be chosen, despite it going against heritage. Not too soon her father was caught in the center of the conflict, many clan members blaming him for the current division for not bearing a son. As things heated up more, Rin's father was untimely assassinated due to the clan's growing spite. Unfortunately for the clan side demanding a male leader, this only hastened Rin's taking of power to be the new head. Her father being prematurely removed allowed for Rin to take seat and settle things herself using her own methods to restore peace. The opposing side was swiftly crushed, leaving no room for skepticism among the clan as to whether she was fit to be the new leader. Doubt and uncertainty had been wiped away, Rin hailing command, exceeding the expectations of her family and masters. Perhaps in an attempt to show her father that she could carry on his rule, and make him proud, she continued to rule heavily and without fault. On the fateful day of the Earth's destruction, Rin had met the heads of two other prestigious clans, Okami and Hayashi. Knowing that the way of Japan had to live on throughout history, Rin had decidedly made the choice to join and ally with the two other clans in an attempt to revitalize her destroyed country. She made the choice to transcend her ancestors, and show the galaxy the true ways of her culture.

  19. RyosukeKaneshi

    RyosukeKaneshi Space Hobo

    Character Name: Ryosuke Kaneshi

    Character Race: Human

Character General Info: Those around him often see with a smirk on his face, or don't see him at all. People who have dealt with him either know him as being very dependable, but also very dangerous. He has an entrepreneurial spirit about him that he carries with him from the world he is from, as well as a cold-blooded nature that he has developed from the past that got him here. Though he avoids most conflicts and picks his battles based on odds and necessity, when the necessity arises he is often more than up to the task.

Character Description: A proudly standing man in his mid to late 20s. Likes to dress stylishly, and may appear a bit snooty to some. Always seems to have his hair exactly the way he wants it.

Character Biography: Originally from an economically driven city-world, Ryosuke was born and raised with a silver spoon in his mouth. He knew little of his mother, and his father was a world famous inventor who was the center of the power of the mega-corporation he was with. Over the years, this power had consumed Ryosuke's father; and having lost him to his obsession, Ryosuke left him and his home. Seeking for a place of his own, he wandered around his home planet playing the role as pirate, thief, mercenary, killer, and lover... along the way making a few enemies and more than a few friends, but losing some dear to him as well. Through a series of unfortunate events, however, he had decided that there was nothing left for him in not only his homeland, but his home world. He returned back to his father's laboratories, procured a spaceship his father had created, and left the planet seeking a new land to call his home.

  20. Lascivar

    Lascivar Scruffy Nerf-Herder

Character Name: Lassscivar (Just kidding, it's Lascivar. No last name to provide.)

    Character Race:
    Floran

Character General Info: Lascivar is 37, weighing approximately ~180lbs and standing at 6'1.

Eminently hostile, for lack of a better description. Lacking any capacity for sarcasm or understanding for words beyond their utmost literal sense; due to this he takes most jokes as direct insults if they're badly worded. His grasp of the English dialect is a little cleaner than more "savage" Florans from the tribal villages, but traits such as his ravenous cannibalistic tendencies still linger.

It's quite possible to hold a conversation with Lascivar, although he seems to pay far more attention to the body language of others than the words actually spoken. A pleasant word uttered from someone with a dagger held is still one that will keep him on edge.

He will quite happily put aside his disdain for others if there is something of distinct value for him to gain from it, seeming exceedingly curious about the newer technologies that are still undiscovered to his race, though he has a habit of breaking most tools that he finds to find out how they were put together in the first place and make them more suited for himself if he's capable.

Character Description: Fiery orange sprouts protrude from this Floran's head in the distinct pattern of a mohawk, with the rest of his scalp being scarred with burns albeit in a considerably concise pattern to make sure that his "hair" grows precisely in the way he wants it.

Almost every inch of this being's body is marred with a horrendous artwork of scars and burns, blackened and sooty char marks afflicting his bark-flesh, only being complimented with the occasional slices and prods from blades. His feet seem the most damaged, as if he was forced to stand on embers each and every day; they are literally pitch black with cracks throughout the hardened and calloused flesh where the sap had bled out of him on so many frequent occasions.

The main peculiarity about the damage that this creature has succumb to is that not a single scar nor scratch adorns his face in the slightest, as if he has gone explicitly out of his way to protect his face from harm under any circumstance.

Character Biography: Born into an exceedingly dominant tribe upon his planet, as a sapling he was spoon-fed the cultural ideals that the destruction of the other tribes across the planet was the only way to assure the safety of his own tribe, ingraining a kill or be killed mentality in him and every other being that lived in their village. Where other villages would accept interplanetary traders, his own tribe would watch the ships descending to the planet's surface and swiftly rush to the forests that surrounded the destination of the ships to await the visitors to disembark from them, only to brutally ambush the beings with guerrilla tactics and scavenge everything possible from the vessels. This is where Lascivar seemed to shine, not only with the hunt, but with the stolen tech; having an uncanny knack for toying with technology that he had never seen before, recognizing symbols and triggers from previous pieces of stolen equipment and merely putting the pieces together in his head as to how they work.

Years passed along swiftly and as Lascivar approached his 28th year of life, another ambush was about to take place with an Apex ship slowly lowering down through the atmosphere. Having every moment planned out like clockwork, the Apex left their ship as per usual, with the vicious and sadistic ambush ensuing, the Florans lunging out from the bushes and beginning to hack the chimps apart with stolen and scavenged phaseblades, with a few guns being shot from a distance as cover.

This was different, though. Lascivar had lept onto an Apex, latching his jaws into the being's throat and tearing at the furred flesh whilst his dagger plunged into the Ape's body.

A loud, ear-piercing shot went off and slowly everything became numb for him, his ears ringing and blotting out all but a slur of gibberish from the nearby beings, his vision beginning to dull and blacken as he let go of his Apex victim and fell back onto the ground. Looking around, his entire tribe's hunting party was on the ground, either dead or mortally wounded, his last focusing view was of some armed Florans from another village standing over the bodies. It was all a setup, the other villages had plotted against his own and they fell straight for the bait.

Prison... Floran prison in particular, a viciously cruel place to be, the torture devices were limitless and the floors themselves were filled with emberstone, turning your feet to cinders within minutes of standing in one place too long. It was no less torturous than living inches away from an open volcano and having the lava slipping past your feet constantly. The guardsmen from the other villages were no less sadistic, knowing that he and his tribe had slain their loved ones on raids. They would open his cell door on some nights, skewering his body with blades and pressing his body down against the emberstone to inflict the grueling agony of the heat into his body, leaving him just able enough to crawl back to the bed in one living piece. Some nights over the years he was prepared for it, staying awake and hearing the guards enter, lunging at them before they had a chance to harm him and making a swift attempt to escape, though it was always thwarted by the numerous guards that filled the entire prison, making it just a little further towards the surface with each attempt, although accruing more scars to match.

One night in particular though, fortune changed in his favor. As a guard walked past his cell, it appeared empty, the bedding torn up and in disarray with the emberstone in the ground having been cracked open thoroughly, though it was impossible to see if he had tunneled out with the bedding covering most of the ground. The guard swiftly opened up the gate and rushed into the cell to brush aside the bedding, only to have Lascivar lunge down from the dark ceiling atop him, a handful of the emberstone which was brutally scalding his hand was now plunged into the guard's face, pressing it to his mouth to incapacitate the guard and prevent him from screaming out.

All of his previous attempts had garnered his route out of the prison. As he made his way to the surface donning the guard's armor and weapon, he walked right past the final guards without contention, they didn't recognize him as anything but one of their own.

As luck would have it, the Apex ship was still docked after all these years, with their ambush party having killed most if not all of the crew it would seem. The ship was thoroughly overgrown with vines, but as he entered it and began toying with the command console, he knew it was in working order.

The fuel was immensely low but there was enough scraped together to get to a nearby planet and start anew..
