  1. Pie4Pigs

    Pie4Pigs Existential Complex

    Character Name: Jesse Harrison
    Character Race: Human
Character General Info: Jesse is an alcoholic with a temper. Selfish and dismissive, he isn't afraid to resort to violence. He dislikes technology and excessive manual labor. However, he is capable of loyalty and bravery if others encourage him. He is rather illiterate, and dislikes things that are overly complicated in general.
Character Description: 22 years old, shady appearance, greasy and longer hair, British origin, thick accent.
Character Biography: Earth was a place of majesty, at the time. Skyscrapers towered above its crust, with some of the galaxy's greatest minds and hardest workers doing what they did best inside. Businessmen increased their wealth and influence with their dedication and wit. Biologists were ensuring the transition from man to god. Philosophers rivaled those of ancient Rome, painting society with their words of wisdom.

"Space is a load of bollocks, I tell ya what. All I need is a little booze in my stomach and an apartment to stay in. Those cocky scientifics can keep their shit to themselves. I'm livin' the good live."

Jesse's mother did nothing to keep him from the slums of Britain, and the bars that lined it. It was devoid of modern technology, and most people who had anything worth 5 bucks on them were mugged within seconds. "This is the way things oughta be. This is the way I'm gonna live my life, yeah?"

He doesn't remember much of his life (primarily because he was drunk through most of it) and it's what he doesn't remember that bothers him the most. He doesn't remember the last time he talked to a girl, or the his last job, so he prefers to make stories up when he drunkenly talks to people at the bar. Some people smile and nod. Most people get creeped out and amble out the door.

Jesse was too inebriated to understand what was happening when the beast took over Earth.. He just knew it was time to leave, and he planned on doing so the only way he knew how. He jacked a car and did his best to drive it over to a military airfield a mile away. The military was pre-occupied, and most of the ships were gone. There was spaceship that seemed rather outdated, but Jesse couldn't care (or notice) less.

He squirmed in the spaceship's seat. The alcohol did little to slow his heartbeat. He was sitting in the lap of luxury, and it felt so wrong. The ground shook. Jesse came back to reality. And just like that, he began to ascend out of the familiar and into the unknown.

oh my god my writing is horrible pls forgive me

  2. Hok

    Hok Void-Bound Voyager

Character Name: (Delete these brackets, put in your character name here. Last name heavily recommended, but not required) Hok "Hawkeye" Weiss

Character Race: (Avian? Glitch? Human? What's your characters race?) Human
Character General Info: (Notes, such as age, personality, etc.)
    Age: 35
    Occupation: Field Mechanic/Engineer turned Mercenary

Personality:Most of the time Hok is fairly quiet, speaking mostly when spoken to first. He is fairly cautious around other people but may start a conversation if he overhears anything that may interest him. Can be fairly rude/violent at times by impulse because of his childhood but tries to keep his attitude in check. At other times he can seem like a fairly cold person.

Character Description: (Describe how your character will look, pictures are liked, nothing too big. No generic handsome anime boys with big swords, preferably.)
Hok has black hair, usually keeping it out of the way whenever he could. Usually has a beard. He has a fairly average sized eye, there is a noticeable scar on his left eye from a past accident. His left eye has the look of it being clearly mechanical, has a green glow from the pupil from time to time. Usually wears glasses but doesn't strictly have to wear them all the time. He has a fairly average light tone of skin. His left arm is rarely seen from under a sleeve and pair of gloves but the metal is a matte black with a regular iron trim.

Character Biography: (Tell us your characters story. What brought him/her to this point?)

During his youth(years up until age of 23) he lived a fairly normal life, going through school in a small town. During those years, he would often pick fights and cause trouble. Aside for picking fights, he had an interest in different types of machines and thought about becoming a mechanic at a young age.Around the age of 17 he looked back at his past years, and regretting some of his actions, he became more of the quiet, reserved type he is now.

When he graduated from school, he enrolled to go towards his goal of becoming an engineer aboard a ship so that he could see other worlds and continue to learn about different types of technology(Age 18). After his time in school(Age 21), he found a job in repairing small vehicles to start off small, but during his three years of work, he suddenly was part of a workplace accident where he lost his left arm at the elbow and his left eye. After recovering from the accident, he had his missing arm and replaced with working prosthetics. After gaining a his metal arm, he left his job and ended up being recruited into the crew of the "U.M.S. Farstrider" maintenance ship. Spending about 8 years being part of the crew(now age 30), he became vice-head mechanic in the crew. As his ship was receiving work, they were hired to inspect an abandoned space station orbiting a planet called Atlas to see if it could be re-purposed.

During the inspection of the space station, the crew reactivated the emergency power generator. As it started up, the station started to become unstable due to years of being out of use. While the crew fled to the ship, the rubble collapsed, blocking the way for Hok to get through. While looking for an alternate way out, by chance Hok found one of the last few escape pods. As the station was destroyed, Hok's escape pod was launched towards a nearby planet where he crashed. Waking up on the planet, he attempted to contact his crew but instead was met with a strange band of mercenaries who moved towards the crash site of the pod. After a while of speaking to the mercenaries, they took him in as a temporary recruit. Over time Hok became a permanent part of the mercenaries known as the "Blood Talons", working alongside one of his crewmates he simply addresses as "Havok". Overtime he became known as Hawkeye due to his mechanical eye and constant use of a sniper rifle and small arms.(now is current specified age, 35)

While we wait... Why not brainstorm?

One thing I'd like to do as my character is construct a building known only as The Saloon. It would serve as a kind of den of debauchery for the more "evil" characters. Hired killers, psychotic scientists, and career criminals only- no heroes allowed!

It'd be stocked with whiskey, which would be served in the main room, a large hall with plenty of tables and chairs. Other, smaller rooms would serve different purposes...

The Planning Room would consist of a table, a few chairs, and a map. Here, the "villains" can propose and coordinate DASTARDLY BASTARDLY PLANS!

The Torture Room is self explanatory- need to extract information or money from some goody two-shoes? Bring him/her here, tie them to a chair, and get torturin'.

And last but not least, The Armory. This could consist of weapon displays and (pretty please!) an admin-spawned weapons merchant.

That's all the ideas I got for now, but I'd like to see yours!

  6. IronicEnigma

    IronicEnigma Intergalactic Tourist

    Character Name: Rikiyu Elicoor

    Character Race: Hylotl

Character General Info: 23 years of age. Very Quiet, but speaks up when necessary. Loves to help others, even at the cost of himself. Goes out of the way to avoid conflict. He has a general hatred toward all things floran, but he tries to keep it at bay most times. He is a perfectionist that struggles with insomnia, staying active and striving to improve. Very intuitive and occasionally adventurous.

Character Description: Very thin build, due to being raised on fruit. Fairly tall, and generally reserved. Doesn't like to wear a shirt, as it seems to dry his skin out.

Character Biography: Rikiyu grew up in a shack on the border of a somewhat large hylotl village that was a hot-spot for trade. From crops, to weapons, to clothing, this village had everything a pixel could buy. Rikiyu's father was a great military commander, and his mother, a retired pilot, turned occasional farmer. Rikiyu hardly never really knew his father, due to the incident occuring when Rikiyu was young. All that Rikiyu knew was that it involved the village across the forest, and it had something to do with florans. He found it pretty self explanatory. Rikiyu adopted the art of farming after his mother had aged, and did it quiet well. He was never quite satisfied, and always longed for something new. Something he could study. He always found an interest in odd things, things his village didn't have much of, like religion and music. He was never allowed to leave the village he grew up in, until the recent incident. One day, while reaping coralcreep, Rikiyu had the strangest feeling. As he looked out in the direction of the forest, he saw what appeared to be a light. As time went on the light multiplied, all across the treeline. Rikiyu had one thought, and one thought only. Florans. He through his house searching for his mother, but all he found was a note explaining her trip to the market. Rikiyu had no choice but to run. His first instinct was the well-guarded research facility, a military site where his parents met. It was a gamble, as Rikiyu had never stepped foot in the facility, and had no idea if it was still active, but he was desperate. As Rikiyu looked back on all he had ever known, he saw the one thing he could never unsee. The horror of his entire village being burned in a matter of minutes. This only made Rikiyu run faster, and wonder if anyone he knew made it out alive. As he arrived at the facility, it was abandoned. Not abandoned, but more deserted. There were papers scattered, and it was clear that whoever was here before got out in a hurry, taking all but 3 of the completed prototype ships. Rikiyu quickly pondered the cost of stealing one of the ships, and potentially never seeing his homeworld again. His rare adventurous side kicked in, and as Rikiyu darted to the cockpit, he realized this was a great opportunity for him to discover new things, as there was nothing for him in a burnt village of ash. As a child, Rikiyu had a desire to absorb all knowledge of anything he could get his hands on. Fortunately, this included some of his mothers piloting books. Rikiyu was overwhelmed with excitement, and immediately typed in the coordinates of the Avian temple he had read so much about. Maybe he would find a viable religion there! As he exited orbit, he wondered if he would ever see his mother again, and decided to dedicate some of his time to seeking her out. He wondered if there were any other Hylotl out there, and if he would be lucky enough to run into one of the scientists that used to work at the facility. As loneliness and boredom set in, he quickly gave up hope on this search, realizing the alpha sector was far too expansive. A few hours later, Rikiyu realized he forgot something very vital to his expedition. Fuel.

sounds awesome, but where would it be built? on a remote planet only known to space thugs? or near a bigger city but hidden in a cave?

    Rusinylancer Intergalactic Tourist

For such a shady place, you'd need a shady planet. I'd love to help. My character is morally neutral, though. Just likes to build and work on all things engineering related.

I'd love to form a crew with someone and just jump around the galaxy, maintaining everyone's gear and ships.

    Dyslexic Kitten Void-Bound Voyager

I think (if the server doesn't already do this) the server should have various city-planets ran by different groups. For example, The Hipster Federation of Vintage Originality would have their own planet where everything essentially looks like a thrift shop.
Or we could have something like Mos Esily ran by a gang.
    I don't know I just think having cities would be pretty cool. ;w;

I suspect that it would be built either on a desert planet or an arctic planet, most likely beneath the ground.

However, it might also make sense to build it within a city. After all, what kind of criminal simply hangs out in the booneys?

As for helping, Rusin, Wrex could always just pay you to build it. He's not a builder by any means, and your character is an engineer.

  12. Robo Hobo

    Robo Hobo Scruffy Nerf-Herder

Character Name: [Unknown] Alias: Robo Hobo
    Character Race: Glitch

Character General Info: Heavily damaged Glitch with unstable circuitry - distrusting of the Rich and other Glitch for reasons unknown to even himself. A large dent on the back of his head has wiped his memory banks, and his Identification Tag has been scraped off through years of wear. Strangers have known the bot only as the "Robot Hobo" because of his lack of motivation to achieve anything in life. He is a supremely lazy being.

    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

    robo.PNG

Character Biography: Many years ago, on a small Glitch Rimworld, there was a Bot by the name of Rustbone. He was a humble sort of being, living the simple life of a Blacksmith. Around the planet - there were rumors of some kind of plague. As Rustbone heard it, the victims of the infection would come down with a case of insanity - claiming that the happy metallic citizens of the world were nothing more than automatons that mimicked life - nothing but a hollow shell that was simply playing at Life. It sounded like insanity to Rustbone, until one dark night while out for a walk, he gazed up at the stars. He thought for the first time in his existence that night. True thought, that perhaps there was some logic behind the stories of the Madmen. After all - why was it that the creatures surrounding all of them bled, and had a warmth to their flesh - but when you cut in to the body of one of his own - it made only a clang and a screech? The thought unnerved him - and he knew that he had to seek the advice of an Elder. He briskly made his way through the village to Elder Greyspark's home - where he pounded on the door with one cold, large fist. The old machine came to the door and his eyes lit up in recognition, "Polite. Greetings, Rustbone. What is the matter?"
Rustbone shook his head, "Distressed. Elder, how sure are you that we are alive?"
The thought shook the elder deeply, and though it was not visible on his inanimate, unmoving faceplate, he knew that Rustbone had to go. During about an hour's worth of conversation, Rustbone had attempted to convince him that the rumors that the citizens of the planet were nothing more than automatons who were created to play a game of life. Talk like that started panic - even revolution. He needed to be silenced.
Later that very night, after Rustbone had left - Greyspark called for one of the Guards. Speaking of his terrible orders in a muffled tone, the Guard simply nodded and left - a long blade at his hip.

Nobody saw Rustbone after that - he never made it back to his Hovel and his Forge was abandoned the next day. But then again - the body was never seen either.
    The End?

  18. Aradin

    Aradin Space Hobo

    Character Name: Aradin Windwings

    Character Race: Avian

Character General Info: Aradin is an Avian just entering adulthood and is as brash and cocky as you'd expect someone this young to be. His bravado and courage are hardly backed up by any real mechanical or fighting skill however, just as you'd expect from someone so inexperienced. He has yet to truly be tested by the universe.

Character Description: The Avian has light blue plumage, light enough to be lost in snow. A small beak and a puffed out chest, as if he is daring the world to strike him. Thin enough that if it did, it may just end up breaking him in half.

Character Biography: Aradin is an Avian separated from his people, having been born in deep space far away from Avos. Born to spacefaring parents aboard an unnamed merchant vessel some twenty years ago, he has spent nearly his entire life among the stars, traveling from system to system. He was to be a merchant as his parents were, scouring the universe for any pixel to be made. He had his reservations about this of course, as any young, hot-blooded Avian might. Still, he had read about his people and his home world and had found it confusing. Being cut off from the zeal and the community that had built it had left him immune to the teachings of Kluex and whatever Aether it is He might control.

And this is where he is now. Out in space, hovering over a planet without a single drop of fuel left to his name, wondering if he really should have followed in his parents footsteps. Wondering if perhaps he should have brought more fuel.

  19. StellarElite

    StellarElite Space Hobo

    Name: Gallarias "Bloom" Bloomtalon
    Race: Floran
    Age: Unknown
Baisc Info: Gallarias is a wandering Floran exiled from his homeworld for his deviant thoughts and ideals. While violence is hard-coded into the Floran culture, Gallarias refused their violent ways, renounced the ties to his homeworld, and fled to the stars. Since then he has become a mercenary for hire and a warrior in his own right, uuuuuntil he ran out of fuel over a planet in the ass-end of nowhere and constantly assaulted by penguins in giant space ships, axe-tailed Pokemon-like panda-things, and the odd man-eating ant-eater...thing.
Description: A run-of-the-mill green-skinned Floran with darker-green foliage and a blossoming blue flower emerging from the top of his head.
    Alignment: Chaotic Good
Personality: A flamboyant, friendly Floran. Three words you would never expect to come together in the same sentence, Gallarias prides himself on being slightly more sane than the rest of his species by practicing good will and controlling his aggressive urges. Of course, if someone dare press the big red button that says, "Berserk", his bloodthirsty nature will emerge, and limbs will find themselves half a mile away.
