Character Name: Sylaess Oldgate

Character Race: Human

General Info: She is 22 Years old, She can seem rather rude due to her lack of education and her rather cautious nature.. Not easy on trusting anything that isn't in her field of comfort or knowledge. she has great assets in mechanic and Smithing.

Character Description: Standing at an average height for a human of 165 centimeter, she has red long red hair and pale skin, minor burn bruises on her arms due to minor work accidents. While not being the prettiest around she easily melds in the average crowd.

Character Biography: She is quite the average human being that didn't grow up without proper education. Her youth could be described as having to use a screwdriver as a rattle toy.. She grown up to be quite the mechanic until eventually getting her own torn apart ship.. Unfortunately it can barely roam the stars. Her care being the only thing that keeps the tin can from ripping in half. She roams around in space trying to get fuel, salvage materials and a few meals out of fixing ships or weaponry.

Seems like something I'd enjoy, just not starting fresh all over again right after the patch. Though, the only thing I'd want to bring over would be vanity items I've picked up that I rather enjoy having on the character, would this be possible? Or by new do the rules mean entirely new in every aspect. I've been bumping around beta zone not too motivated to do anything else rather than explore. Also, thanks for the reply too!

Character Name: Gearheart
Character Race: Glitch

Character General Info
• Age: 25 (Based on Earth Standard Time)
• Height: 6'4"
• Weight: Between three and five hundred pounds.
• Traits: Quiet, reserved, observant, critical, orderly, perfectionist (at times)

Character Description
Gearheart is a tall, somewhat imposing male Glitch. His face is nondescript like most Glitch, and where his ears would be there are two smooth, tapered sensors. His frame is thick, built like a muscular human or a soldier designed for war. Were he to don armor and wield a weapon, there would be almost no doubt. The metal that makes up the majority of his body is silver-white, with the intricate details and connections coal-black. Where light can be seen in or on his body, a cool white glow shines out.

More often than not, Gearheart is seen wearing a matching beige shirt and pants, thick brown leather boots and gloves, and a coal colored smith's apron with various tools-of-the-trade jutting out. He would almost seem unarmed were it not for the fact he is never far from a hammer of some kind.



Character Biography
Gearheart was "born" like almost all modern Glitch; he had a "father" and "mother" who assembled him. The days of his "childhood" were spent as an apprentice to the town's blacksmith, and his nights were spent filling his memory banks with the knowledge of metallurgy and crafting. As he "grew" and his form was gradually modified to fit his function, he never questioned the orders that were given to him, never particularly desired anything new, and on the whole, never desired change; he was content with his lot in life.

Like all Hivemind Glitch, Gearheart viewed the Outcast Glitch much as they were; mad exiles and crazy pariahs best tolerated at a distance and fit only for destruction or repurposing. After all, there was comfort in the Hive. Contentment. Purpose. Belonging. Perfection. The Outcast had none of this, or so the Hivemind told him, and so he believed this as fact for many years. It was only when the fault in his own programming appeared did Gearheart begin to change.

The effects of the anomaly were slow, almost imperceptible to Gearheart. It manifested first as a gradual quieting of the Hivemind, as though someone were ever so slowly turning down the volume dial on a radio, and likewise increasing the volume of his own thoughts. He began to become interested in the roles of other Glitch, curious as to how they performed their functions, from farmer, to soldier. He began to see new ways to improve his own craft, deviating from the established norms and customs of the smiths and craftsglitch before him. And he began to question. Question his own role. Question the roles of the Glitch around him.

Question the Hivemind.

In some ways, Gearheart was lucky. His so-called decent into madness was so gradual, neither he nor the Glitch around him particularly noticed. In fact, it wasn't until Gearheart slept and dreamt for the first time in his existence did he realize that he had changed. The Hivemind's voice was now but a whisper; background noise to his own thoughts. Gearheart understood that he was one of them - an Outcast, and he knew, deep down, that it would only be a matter of time until the others figured it out as well.

And so he quietly left, taking with him only the barest essentials, and as though waiting for him, met an Outcast who lead him away from the city in silence. They had been watching him, they told him, and noticed the changes in him only the Outcast would recognize. In the years that followed, Gearheart was exposed to the Outcast way of life, to new technologies, and finally, to the stars themselves. He was liberated. He was home.

The Hivemind lied to him.

Since it was around the time of the update, and you guys had some server issues, i feel like a few of us back on page 21 got overlooked. I'm not trying to rush you guys, I'm just very excited to get in.

 

Character Name: Gigak

Character Race: Glitch

Character General Info:
1.) Is very confused a lot of the time and is trying to learn and build his own personality.
2.) He tends to short circuit. Especially when in water.
3.) All he knows so far is that when he helps others a warm part of his inside tends to get warm around his chest so he tends to be very nice and tries to be helpful.
4.) If he sees a dear ally getting hurt he will put himself in front to protect that ally, knowing that he is just a machine and is unimportant.

Character Description: Looks evil in appearances but really isn't. He was just built to look threatening but not much else. Has little combat experience but can hold his own.

Character Biography: Gigak was a servant to a poor family who were homeless. He was made out of scrap metal and other junk that was hanging about. He isn't the most advanced robot but he did good at what he was made to do. Scare and fend off the wildlife and any other threat to the family. The youngest of the family, a little girl who no older then 5 always loved to play with Gigak and Gigak loved to play with her. He felt that warm feeling in his chest even though he wasn't a living organism. But one day, he wasn't able to uphold his duty and was destroyed in a raid and his family was killed. As he laid there he never felt the feeling he had when he failed to protect what he loved...He managed to rebuild himself and tried to find a new purpose in life.

Character Race: Human
Character General Info: She's a captain of her own ship and she's also the mechanic, too. -let's face it she's the only active crew member, period. Swelli is 25 and she never had a boyfriend, she's in fact a real rough neck; she can change the subzilicator rod on an IME280 faster than you can say Hyper-speed. She is not turned off by men however, perhaps they just feel less manly in her presence therefore none tried to pursue her, the rare few times she was touched down at home.
Character Description: She's beautiful and doesn't even know it or care to know for that matter, or maybe that's because her face is hidden beneath streaks of grease replacing the sweat from another hard day in lonely space. Her hair is most likely in a long pony tail, a few loose hairs annoyingly block her view as she worked tirelessly
Character Biography:"When life hands you lemons you build a space craft..." Her life is really complicated, yet it's incredibly simple as well. humans were built to live off the land, You give a human a spaceship and they will live off of many lands, at least this human does she never had much guidance she grew up in an orphanage where the children were forced to clean, repair and reprogram top notch racing Droid's that raced illegally for underground gambeling and drug cartels. Swelli was one of those who were just meant to build and create things with bare hands, and she slowly built her way to the top.. literally she built her own spaceship with all those illegal droid parts and flew the hell out of there, and she never looked back ever since.

Character Name: Bill Foot
Character Race: Apex

General Info: Bill has become an experienced space hermit and a staunch conservationist. He lives a simple life, takes no more than he needs to, and seeks to promote a sense of harmony with nature. Bill lives either in complete isolation, or on the fringes of small communities, where he works mainly as a trapper and explorer-for-hire. He has developed a sort of "personal religion", which helps keep him from going mad with despair at the expense of what more conventional people might call "sanity". He enjoys it when his small cottages are discovered and visited by travelers. Ideally, he would like to assist in the building of a community dedicated to simple living.

Character Description: Bill is getting up there, and is probably fifty to sixty years of age. For a hermit, Bill's appearance is fairly well-groomed, and his hygiene is excellent. Bill lives for the moments where he is at liberty to take in a glorious sunrise from the top of a mountain wearing only his own fur. He is a strong and able climber and hunter. He has white hair and where it is absent: a tough, sun-baked hide.

Biography: Bill was the navigator aboard an Apex cargo ship, some twenty years ago. The ship and her crew became marooned on an unknown forest world, after a series of incidents. Bill, being the navigator, was the target of much blame. Rather than stick around, Bill fled deep into the wilderness. Bill learned how to keep himself alive, and eventually found a ship of his own, which he now uses to travel the stars. Bill believes he can communicate to his long-lost family and friends by speaking through certain objects, but it is a one-way communication, and they will never be able to answer him.

Character Name: Soar Claw

Character Race: Avian

Character General Info: 22, chaotic good, wary of other Avians.

Character Description: Heavy scarring under right eye, slight twitch in the right eye when angered.



Character Biography: Soar Claw was born to a poor family in a small farming village in the northern hemisphere of Avos, Farming was difficult in the cold climate but he and his family made due. He was named after the actions of his young grandfather, who had taken a great liking to gliding across rooftops, and using his claws to secure his footing.

They day he turned nine was the day he was to be tested by the feathers, the day he turned nine was the day the feathers turned black. Kluex has spoken, Soar Claw was to be sacrificed. His parents, while having devoted their entire lives to the glorification of Kluex, could not choose their god over their son, so they hid him away, planning to send their son away as a stowaway on the nearest trade ship.

And the plan was a complete success, Soar Claw never saw his parents again.

He was found curled up inside of a box of fresh straw by human he would later call his mother, he lived with the merchant crew for ten years, learning their language, culture, and the skill of bartering.

Halfway through his nineteenth year he left the merchants, and set out to find find his own crew and captain his own ship, but his second voyage ended in disaster when they found themselves out of fuel in a rapidly decaying orbit due to a malfunctioning navigation system, and a lazy engineer. Soar Claw ordered his crew to abandon ship, but only a handful of escape pods were able to detach before the ship plummeted too far into the atmosphere.

The impact killed everyone besides Soar Claw, who was somehow able to survive his skull slamming through a control panel despite his avian bones.

It took three years to turn the scraps of his broken starship back into a usable form, and another half year to gather enough fuel to leave the planet.

 

Damnit, why does the mod that accepted me have to be gone ATM...

 

That all depends on your definition of serious, is it a funny character? Yes absolutely, I'm not going to deny that.

However if you don't think I'd treat the character as though its a person functioning in a living breathing world full of people around her, then that's not true, I'm very serious in that regard.

I would liken her to Mercutio of Romeo and Juliet, or Q of Star Trek, yes it is a strange and odd character, one good for a laugh, however I believe Sassotron Mk 2 is just as valid and functional in the setting than anybody else, and I ask you to reconsider.
