I'm not sure if this is a bug, intended, or if I am just being a dolt.. but I figured it was time to ask around. My issue is this: For some time now, when I come across an apex lab and sometimes apex towns too, the type with guards who are like "halt!" as you walk up, I find the base is as unbreakable as the "outpost". Trying to use the matter manipulator even results in the same clanging noise. If I kill all guards and hang out in said base for awhile, it sometimes lets me mine normally. Is this type of behavior normal? It it based on some invisible value, like the game checking for inhabitants?
On one of the roofs, you will find a generator, turn it off and you will be able to break anything there you want.
Ah okay. So it generates a field that makes the blocks unbreakable? Is it able to be harvested? I can see that being useful.
Sofar it vanishes as soon as you try to harvest it. The only way to make use of it sofar is to deactivate the generator and modify that area that it protects, and then activate generator again.
