Unable to download

Hey all, I purchased Starbound, but on my Humble Bundle page it says "Thank you for supporting Starbound. When the beta becomes available you can download it here!", but there is no download link. Am I doing something wrong? I know today is the launch of the beta, yet there is no link. Thanks for any help.

 

Try the HB key resender.
If not just wait for support ;/

Thanks for the reply, I tried the key-resender thing, but it only shows the steam key like before, I thought there was supposed to be a DRM free copy available to download at launch? Or did they reverse their stance on DRM? I'm confused...

 

There is currently no direct, non-DRM download link. Yes, they originally said there would be. It wasn't true. That paragraph on the Humble Bundle page isn't true, either.

It sucks and there's nothing we can do about it.

 

Erm, ...okay..I'm really confused now then. So there is no other legitimate way of downloading it except for the steam key? I could swear they said they would use a system similar to minecraft with the offline sign in thing they have.

hmm, .. well if that's the case I guess I'm gonna have to wait until then.... whenever "then" is. Is there an ETA on the download link?

 

As far as I know they haven't mentioned any sort of estimated timeframe. Not many people seem to care, unfortunately.

 

Okay, .. thanks for the info, I'm just gonna sit it out and wait. Gonna keep asking to see if I can get an answer out of someone, shame I was looking forward to playing it tonight..

Edit: Just found out the sips and sjin from the yogscast are playing it now, gonna watch them play instead..

 

why do people have an issue with steam?

 

I don't. I just wanted a DRM-free copy, that's all. If you want to use steam, good for you. Like I said, I'm just gonna have to wait until they put the download link on my humble account like it says.

 

I'm with you on this. I have a steam account, I just prefer not to use it. I don't like the complete dependence on a third party program to play games. I'm an old fart though that used to play games off of a 5 1/4 floppy. Lol.
