Late last year (2015) the UK Games Fund opened to applications for its first round of grants, offering £25,000 to successful companies to help fund a prototype of their game. We applied, and are delighted to announce that we were successful! What does this mean? It means we are able to safely work full-time on producing a prototype of The Siege and the Sandfox, without worrying about how we’re going to pay for rent and beans. It means that all capital we had saved up from contract work can now go towards other costs and expenses. This money is a huge help to us, and is absolutely facilitating the team to do what we’ve all wanted to do for years: give up our safe comfy day jobs and risk everything on making our own games. What a time to be alive. The fund is ongoing, so applications are now open for the next round. We strongly advise you to apply if you are a qualifying developer. Their team is very supportive and helpful, and it’s all remarkably simple. Good luck!
