Two Questions.

First Question:

How far off are the save wipes? Do I still have time to mess around and explore? Or is it better to just wait until the wipes and start from the scratch and not worry myself about it?

Second Question:

Is Starbound a resource hog for anyone else? It's eating up all my active memory (I have 8 gigs of ram and a fairly good processor too) I've never really had this problem before, but it's causing in-game lag which sometimes gets me killed in many annoying ways.

Is there a setting I can use to reduce the resource hogginess of it?

 

1. Probably sometime tomorrow/monday. Expect more save wipes too. Do not get attached to beta characters/worlds.

2. It's completely using a single of my four cores, and around 1GB of RAM for me.

 

Not getting attached, I know I'm not suppose to, It's not my first Beta, I just wanted to know how much time I had before the wipe, I don't wanna tempt myself into exploring hard and finding a REALLY nifty item for it to be wiped in a few hours after all.

So it's not just me getting the resource hogginess eh? Well, that's good to know.

 

As far as i have heard the save wipes is a possiblity not a definite set in stone plan they have.

And as for the second it also looks like it hoggs alot on my machine but i presumed that was because it is still in beta and with all its bugs/lagg etc it just seems like it is a resources hog

 

2 It's a hog for everyone. It's not heavily optimized at this stage in the beta.

 

I didn't figure it would be heavily optimized, but does anyone know a way to alleviate the resources it takes up?
