So, if you've read the Daily Update from the 25th of October, you'd know that Chucklefish is working on foliage, and having it generate in villages. Well, Tiy has tweeted two example images which were not present in said Daily Update, therefor I'll just post them here for us all to drool over.

I wonder how common it will be to find NPC settlements.
I don't want it TOO common. Maybe about every 20-30 planets.

I like it. It's a minor thing, but it makes a big difference.

 

Exactly. It's a MINOR thing. They should work on something major, like, I dunno, releasing beta or something...

 

The little minor things add up, though, to make good impressions. Without a solid first impression, your game is in trouble. People are very quick to form opinions and often won't give a game a second shot if the beta disappoints them, even though a logical person would realize that a beta is clearly unfinished. I side with the devs on this one

 

I don't it should be that rare. I think it should be ever 2-3 planets. I heard that there will be either atleast on Dungeon one village on a planet.

 

I am sure that for testing purposes, there is a village on every single landable planet at the moment. But I would like the to be a little less common as well. There just can't be 50% planets in the universe populated.

 

I noticed a typewriter-looking thing on the first image (bottom left, near the sitting Glitch). Looks a lot like a cash register.

 

But don't these minor things that while small alone, all add up to the very experience that we're hoping to have? We have no right to ask them to rush art.

YES, I are agree. They should be doing major things like work on the Beta rather than doing minor things like work on the Beta

People, I think that we can all agree that every addition to the game, whether it be a small decorative item, or a large gameplay feature, is a step towards Beta. So let's not have this deteriorate into a discussion on what they should and shouldn't focus on. :whistle:

 

There's "working on Beta" and "Working on Beta".

There's "adding cosmetic shit that doesn't fix any bugs that prevent beta from being released and may cause more bugs" and there is "fixing damn thing up so it can be released".

On topic, whatever world I can find that ice-y orb tree on, is the first world I want to inhabit.

 

I just noticed those signs (even though the team has already posted a lot of village screenshots); I'll get them by whatever means necessary.I'm just with those, they look really cool for making a mini - village in your homeworld IMO.The trees look quite good, too.It's the little things that make the game better
