If 1000 "Sand" doesn't work and 3 "Fine Sand" does, then I am sure it won't work..

I am aware it sounds snarky, but it isn't intended.. I am a bit lacking in thinking of a better wording for it at the moment.. I only mean for it to be a comparison between the two items and noting my logic behind why I think it does not work..

Mine down past where the music changes. If you can get a world with lots of sand, slime, or something soft at its lower mid level you will be able to get a ton or resources really quickly.
I had a diamond pickaxe on the first world due to a soft planet interior.

    Make a refinery ASAP.

this next one is an exploit, sorry.

In the Angry Koala release, The turrets cost 1px to build at the 3d printer

In regards to the spoiler, I would like to add....

I think that you think it is an exploit because it has 2 crafting recipes which has one being massively cheaper than the other..

    3D Printer = Pixels (x1)
    Wiring Station = Laser Diode (x1) + Circuit Board (x1) + Platinum Bar (x5) + Pixels (x500)

I am sure the current 3D Printer price is temporary for testing purposes..

Blocks that fall, such as fine sand, gravel, books, can replicate if they drop onto something by creating a background tile.

    The exploit is:

You break the turret and get a laser diode and a computer chip. It's just for testing purposes for sure, but you can exploit this to your advantage (for a limited time), so I call it an exploit.

Sand and fine sand can both be smelted into glass at furnace. Dry sand can't.

Tip: you don't need to move food onto your hot bar to eat it. just grab it with your mouse and click outside your inventory window.

I was unaware of this.. I never had a turret break before..
This is what I do with items I only want to use briefly such as placing a single door out of a stack..

They are one of the best, yeah, but there's lots of foods that give the same amount.

Here's an incomplete list of foods that give you the Regen 3 buff (the best healing buff in the game, afaik). I bolded foods that are easy to get the ingredients for.

    Shield
    • Sushi (wartweed, avesmingo, rice)
    Doping/Sugar Rush/Electroshock
    • Avesmingo Icecream (Avesmingo, milk, sugar)
    • poached avesmingo (avesmingo, wartwine)
    • roast dinner (raw meat x 2, potato, avesmingo)
    • Banana Bread (banana, bread)
    • carrot bread (carrot, bread)
    • banana cream pie (wheat, eggshoot, sugar, banana)
    • black current crumble (sugar, boltbulb, wheat, eggshoot)
    • copper key pie (diodia, wheat, kiwi)
    • sweet time (diodia, sugar, neonmelon)
    • carrot cake (eggshoot, carrot, sugar, wheat)
    • pearlpea pancakes (wheat, eggshoot, pearlpeas)
    • pineapple upsidedown cake (feathercrown, wheat, pineapple, eggshoot)
    • reefpod surprise (reefpod, neonmelon, rice wine)
    • pussplum pie (wheat, pussplum, meat chunks)
    • apple pie (red apple x 3, wheat x 2, sugar)
    • cake (wheat x 5, sugar x 5, egg x 2)
    • black current crumble (sugar, boltbulb, wheat, eggshoot)
    • copper key pie (diodia, wheat, kiwi)
    • sweet time (diodia, sugar, neonmelon)

    Double Jump
    • Saltsalad (pearlpeas, reefpod, coralcreep)
No other effects (other than energy/hunger replenishment)
    • meat n marrow (meat chunks, boneboo)
    • Curried Beakseed (beakseed, chilli)
    • chilli stew (tomato, shilli, meat chunks x 2)
    • coralcreep curry (chilli, coralcreep, rice)
    • the special (alien rib meat, boneboo, flesh lump)
    • veggie soup (carrot, potato, tomato)
    • wartweed stew (tomato, carrot, wartweed)
    • coralcreep curry (chilli, coralcreep, rice)
    • oculemon stew (raw alien meat, alien bacon, oculemon)
    • fish n chips (raw fish, potato, wheat x 2)
    • burger (bread x 2, raw alien meat)

if you are apex you get given banana seeds and wheat seeds from the start, and they are the ingredients for banana bread (as stated above) so set up a farm as soon as possible, bananas take a while to grow and don't often give you more than one seed so they take a while to get going, but wheat is very likely to give you more than one seed, i was lucky and found a store that sold bananas very early on so i bought about 500, they are cheap and it meant i used banana bread for hunger and health from almost the star of the game, so it is a worthwhile investment to buy bananas, but what apex would say otherwise :D

I have made 5 different characters to try out different races, and I think one of the best early game discoveries was how much more effective bread is at sating hunger than the meat. Plant your wheat seeds asap and start making bread! You can easily keep yourself supplied with bread very early on until you learn some of the better cooking recipes and get more ingredients!

Speaking of which, has anyone figured out how to change the default position of the inventory window? It's really annoying to have to keep dragging it out of the way.

It is my understanding that windows remembering where they are placed will eventually be added...maybe even with this patch!? One can only hope! And yes, its very, very annoying!!!

Agreed.. Needing to keep moving it around is bothersome.. I am hoping it may be in the patch, but I'm also not going to hold my breath..

Sorry if these aren't the most useful to experienced players, but I'm trying to think of non-obvious things for new people:

Beds are best for AFK because currently you should not get hungry while inside them.
If you really want to experience a long fall/drop/plummet, then yes you can dig straight down. If you can find and keep water at the bottom of the tunnel then you will not take any fall damage when you land in the pool. How you intend to get back out is another matter... I haven't tested how rope works. Also, don't count on being able to remove water by knocking out the back wall when you are deep underground - it only works near the surface.
You can safely bunker yourself from several enemies. You can use the shift key to remove one single block from between you, and that alone is enough to attack through with either melee or range (if you position it just right).
The meter on pickaxes does indicate effectiveness, but you will not lose them when the bar is fully depleted. In short, you don't have to create more than one of the primary tools (hatchets and hoes don't lose effectiveness ever).
You can warp to ship in more places than you think: try knocking out the back wall with the right-click first. This only stops working if you go really deep underground. Knocking out the back wall also helps light areas in the day.

It doesn't hurt to try attacking objects before mining them. Some things are destructible and give pixels, but these take a little longer to mine than they do to smash.

I've learned lots from watching youtube videos! One of my fave series is paulsoaresjr. He has like 19 episodes so far I think. He's funny too! :D

Beds don't provide warmth. I don't know about hunger.

The meter indicates state of repair. One a tool "breaks" (completely runs out of meter) it becomes much less effective until you repair it again with ore. If the bar is non-empty, your mining speed isn't affected.

I'll add that if you mine out a status pod or matter block generator, you get nothing (you lose! good day sir!), so maybe it's a good idea to try using stuff with E too.

I've removed it for now, since it's possible all my beds were near enough to campfires to confuse me.
