Tree Genetics Manipulator?

    I have this idea about a crafting table that allows you to edit the properties of trees, For example, I could take a sapling for "oak bark with bubbly leaves and change it to a seed that grows slimy bark with cloud-like leaves for the price of pixels.

    I don't know, this doesn't seem too practical. First rule would be that you need to discover the species first. At which point it's all kind of pointless, isn't it? If you've got one sapling, you can always grow it, and get more saplings out of it.

    Or did you mean for the Aesthetics?
    Then I suppose this could be fine, but honestly just visit some more planets, and I'm sure you'll find a tree that suits your needs.

    What I actually meant was you could create certain types of bark and leaves, in which the genetics manipulator literally opens up a pallet so you can actually edit what the bark looks like, and what the leaves look like, change the color and everything else you may want, So you can reverse engineer a new breed of trees. I hope this makes more sense now.

    Just make sure not to say that to every post ever on the suggestions forum. But I think I'll have to agree with you on this one.
    I don't think many people would want the devs to spend much time on such mechanics.
