    The idea:
what if you saw a mob
and decided you wanted that on your home planet?

    you can capture mobs.
so why cant you release them onto other planets
so that they spawn naturally there.

    how:
    well now you can!
simply catch 2 of the mobs like you normally would
then select an option on the teleporter
to beam down the two mobs from where they are kept regardless of distance.

come back in awhile and now that naturally generated mob spawns naturally
    on that planet too.

also on homeworlds you can edit the spawn %
whenever you want for a cost. that way you can have a planet inhabited by nothing
    but penguins.

    spawning chance:
you might be thinking, but wouldnt this make it more likely to run into mobs?
therefore making the planet more dangerous.

to combat this, when we place mobs on other planets, the chances of other mobs spawning is reduced.
the more dangerous the mob you transport the more the spawning chances of other mobs is reduced

place a bunny on another planet - t-rex's spawn just as often
place a t-rex on another planet - bunnys rarely spawn

if your not careful you can make a world alot more dangerous however
so on homeworlds you can edit the spawn % whenever you want for a cost.
that way you can have a planet inhabited by nothing but penguins.

    mobs and environment:
certain mobs wont live under certain conditions.
for example: a a fish will die in the desert.

so when you go to teleport a mob it brings up a % chance of survival.
the lower the % the more likely it is to die(and therefore not spawn naturally on that planet)
you can however clone them first in your spacestation for a cost.

things which cause % to be low:
    high level planets
unsuitable conditions ( transporting fish to a desert )
    lots of powerful mobs

thing which cause % to be high:
    if the mob is rare
if its a low level planet
    lots of plants, water
    transporting a powerful mob

you can make the % chance higher
by changing the weather to suit the animal (snow for a snowman e.c.t)
by making sure that there is enough plant life
and by making sure there is enough water

    overall
this prevents us from farming mobs
by having them spawn and then die, leaving their loot everywhere.

    Trained mobs:
when you release a trained mob it retains all the stats or armour it previously had.
and it spawns( in qauntities of 1 ) until it is killed.

it may or may not be hostile towards the player
depending on wether the player attacked it and how long he had the mob for

    glad to see you agree
and nice to see just how much you added to the conversation:DD

anyway how do you people think we should move mobs between planets?
do you think we should use a separate item?

Good idea! but we want POKéBALLZ!
and, what if the mob we transfered starts to compete with the original mobs from that planet?

  5. Zody

    Zody Weight of the Sky

I think that this is a reall good idea. and maybe you should be able to move mobs around in cages or other froms of containment in the same manner as furniture, with the option to open the cage to release the mob.

    like fight each other?

your post did get me thinking however.
wouldnt this increase the amount of mobs we find on this planet?

the chance of running into other mobs on the planet is reduced
to combat the excess amount of mobs.
the more dangerous the mob that you transport the more the other mobs spawn chance are reduced
    that does sound awesome.

    two brilliant ideas.
and that last part is completely 100% true.

i have embarrased myself enough for one week however so i am going to post anomanously wherever possible.

Nice idea but maybe we could have a way to control the spawn rates for mobs on a world in general?(this would go w/ the promised terraforming) after all who doesn't want to make a world inhabited by only the most fearsome creatures possible?

  13. Dr scoobie

    Dr scoobie Giant Laser Beams

If you want that then place the mob on a low level planet.
then theres practically no bunnies and all t-rexes.

changing the spawn % on homeworlds sounds good however.

Great idea! Everything is pretty much done, but I'd add one very little change - not always possible. Except that you've got anything else in your post, but we shouldn't always have possibility to do this (I mean, not every mob, not every planet). When our transporting would fail, a communicate should appear - "Experiment failed - couldn't adapt" or something like that. What do you think?

  15. Dr scoobie

    Dr scoobie Giant Laser Beams

    that got me thinking
clearly your not going to have snowmen living on mercury.
but if they cant live there perhaps they could get transported back.

but i think that the mob rarely dying is a bit harsh when it comes to rare mobs.
you dont want to put in a huge amount of effort to find the mob you want only to
    have it die in transportation.

EDIT: added in a paragraph about
what happens if the mob cant live there.

Well, it was how I meant it to be, so do not worry:)

  18. Dr scoobie

    Dr scoobie Giant Laser Beams

perhaps the % chance of them dying is 0 in low level planets then.

  19. Electroman

Perhaps mobs can have survival parameters, so the snowmen will die if you put them on Mercury.
BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER. Perhaps a little warning will come up on the transport monitor.

so the more dangerous it is for the mob to live there the lower the % chance of survival?
and the % survival is shown on screen before transporting them.
    sounds good.

    ties in nicely.
i will think about adding this to main post.

    anyone else agree?
