Trading with other players confirmed

Just looking through the pictures and I found this. I have to say, i'm pretty happy organized trade will be in starbound.

 

I'm going to do in Starbound what I did in TF2. I'm going to make myself rich off of the ignorance of others.

 

Hurray! No more dropping items in front of everyone so someone can grab it and possibly run off with it without giving you anything in return!

 

You can trust me. I'll only rip you off a little bit. No more than 169%. Probably.

 

Always leave it to the fans to find the finer bits of screenshots I cant seem to find myself. Good show.

 

Yes! My only hope is that an item-for-item system doesn't lead to an over-complex economy based on inflated values of procedurally generated/unique weapons and the whole "One time only" part of the game.

 

Trading and also team mates vignettes on the side complete with a team leader system. Pretty nice picture even if just a mockup.

 

Slightly worried about the "beam to ship" option. but I'll assume its all good.

It's not which ship they beam to that i'm worried about. I just hope that you cant do it without getting some kind of permission first. lol

 

Keep in mind this is also only a mock-up, everything on this screen wont necessarily be in game. Still it certainly shows they want it in as a feature which is good.

 

Well, if it's just that you are in a party with them, that might be fine, assuming of course only you can alter your own ship. If anyone you party with can hop on your ship at any time and take your stuff that would be a bit silly.

 

Strangely, I'm not worried about that either. I just don't want to be beamed up right in the middle of something without any type of warning.
But i guess that just depends on who you play with.

 

. . . How could you have a game like starbound and NOT have trading? Its such a simple concept I didn't think it even needed to have proof it was going to be in it.

 

Terraria had a problem with multiplayer trading, which needed players to make giant contraptions to trade. Same with minecraft.

 

It still happens though. I mean even if it had it set up so that you had to toss items trading would happen.

 

I think you need to be the party leader to do that.

If someone in your party is about to die in the middle of battle, you can beam them up and let them live.

 

They added it so players can make...you know. Shady dealings.

Now why would there be an option to force-beam someone to their ship? It most likely means that you can beam up onto their ship.
