I know, I haven't been getting on as much either, because nobody does. I'm sick of having to run around asking everyone to get on every day so I just gave up, until the game actually comes out.
Well, I've set my IRC client to pop up when I start my computer, and thus I'm almost always on But I haven't gotten the time to be active in the chat though...
Good luck organizing that, barely any body even pays attention to the thread now. You'd have to run around PMing anyone who's active.
Well hello, you've been gone for a while. You should be happy because you don't have to mess with skype anymore.
As we are kinda falling apart a little for the time being, how about a little discussion? So what do you guys think about the recent daily updates, and their content?
I'm mostly pleased with the daily updates. On one hand they seem to be calming some people, but on the other people are making wild speculations based on inconsequential things in the images, and that's annoying. I hope they swing over to some combat mechanic updates soon. I'd like the melee combat to be a little more varied than what has been shown in the streams.
The melee weapons in the livestreams were definitely disappointing, so I'm hoping for a few more animations at least. I'd also like to see what the wiring system is like, but in regards to the updates it makes me feel as if they're working hard to finish up everything on the roadmap and that the beta isn't that far away anymore.
Yeah it definitely seems that the devs are pushing themselves in response to the board's impatience. I can wait if they fix melee and the projectiles.
Thoughts on the May 22nd update? I like this comic styled intro they have going. I just hope they pick voice actors well. I'd also still prefer some news on melee, but I understand they have priorities. Tiy said that today he was going to show off some cool things about terrain. What could that be?
Heya, I'll bring myself in again I'd say. To the daily updates, I really like them, even though I think the developers are pushing themselves a bit too hard in fullfilling the communities wishes. But I won't say anything, I enjoy every tiny news I get about starbound, so its great! Also I love the idea of the comic styled intro for the different races. But the speaker would have to fit the races too, except they choose one "narrator" that tells all the story.
Maybe they'll have both? One narrator to tell the story, as well as voice actors for the characters? (Even thought I think only a narrator would be the best and easiest)
I don't think I'd like a voice actor for characters, I'd rather them be silent. Unless they speak like Sims, that would be okay.
No, not for the characters, just for the intro, that different races got different voiceactors suiting their culture.
Hey all -- At this time I have no plans of getting Starbound, and I am just too busy to really log into IRC. With that, you can remove me as a member if you'd like -- I don't see myself logging in to the forums very often.
That's not really necessary, the IRC isn't too active anyway. It seems like most people are having important exams and it's not like there's a ton to do without Starbound being out. That being said we can all get together and play some games, if anyone's interested?
