Toxic Plains/Plant Fiber Trees Missing in Angry Koala?

Update! They are indeed still around. Zerg Roach also posted coordinates for a planet with the sub-biome, accurate to this patch, in this thread if you need it :)

I'm not sure this is a bug or if I'm just unbelievably unlucky, but I cannot, for the life of me, locate any Toxic Plains sub-biomes in the newest update. I'm playing on a character that was created when Angry Koala came out.

I've been looking at every Forest planet in each area, and I've probably wasted close to 2k coal flying around uselessly. There just don't seem to be any.

Fyi, the Toxic Plains are the sub-biomes of Forest worlds where the large 'flower' type trees that drop plant fiber grow, as well as lots of Toxictops and poisoned water. They were very common in older versions but now I literally cannot locate them.

I'm really low on fiber and hanging vines just don't cut it (while my farming sufficed for a while, with several hundred bread I really don't have any need for farming for a while). Plus since saplings were implemented, I only need to find 1 tree and I can start growing as many as I need..

Has anyone encountered these biomes with a newest-patch save, and if so, coordinates please..?

Hopefully this was put in the right forum, I'm terribly sorry if not.

I haven't seen either in this update. But when I need plant fiber, I go to a low-level jungle planet and just run along the surface, madly flailing my weapon so it breaks every plant along the way.

Hm? Well, it's a bandaid solution (pun intended) but I'll definitely do that. :>

I've seen them, but only a few times. I'm not sure if its due to the planets I've come across or something else

Yay! Apparently they are still in the game, just super rare. It appears that planets only have 1 main biome and 1 sub-biome, and can have any other 'main' planet biome type *as* its sub-biome, which means any one individual sub-biome type becomes uncommon. Ah, well.

    Thanks, Zerg Roach! You rock!

Grow Kiwis, they are small, fast growing and have a high fiber drop rate..

Also good advice for anyone who doesn't have that planet! Thanks, GoldenstarArtist! :)

Yea, I discovered the Awesomeness of Kiwi's awhile ago, another good one is Tomatoes, it's bigger but if you can't find the kiwis they grow equally fast and still have a high drop for fiber.

(Tomatoes I believe can be found on forest planets, and kiwis on desert planets.)

My spawn world for this patch was a fiber tree world.. I quickly left the world due to massive meteors and poison ponds everywhere.. When I say massive meteor, I mean one that is 5-10x your character size and even bigger crater is left afterwards.. They tend to spawn only 1 at a time, but have had 5 hit me at once when I was fighting the Bone Dragon boss..

Funny I should see this thread, got lucky and rolled this biome on a new character. The vine 'trees' are pretty handy to have.

  12. Glad to hear you've found a planet with it. I was going to say people have actually been reporting finding more acid planets than anything else lol.

That sums up my luck with planets.. Toxic and meteors.. All day every day..
