After seeing the Space Hobo i couldn't help but be reminded of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. A towel for the Space Hobo, perhaps slung over his back, perhaps used to fend off monsters, perhaps even just randomly pulled out to wipe his face with as an idle animation would be a nice reference. Though perhaps a quote from Ford would be best. "If you want to survive out here, you've got to know where your towel is."
