Ok here are some suggestions for star bound that i really want to see in the game

    1. choices!

basically you can have choices that involes things like npcs I.E you find a small child you A. befreind
    B. use for painful research or C.snap neck or say you are mining and your workers say there is a demon in the mines you A. check out mines/kill demon or B. act as they said nothing and execute them for no further suspicion.

2.Torture! You have the ability to medievaly torture any NPC in your station or ones you have found to get things/infofrom or even better find out about secret organizations that are going to attack you I.E you torture a gang member and he tells you the HQ location and how to destroy it.

    3.Abduction
you will be able to kidnap any sentient being on that planet and do dangerous testing on them that has a possibility of killing them I.E you kidnap a teenager and use them for researching how people release adrenaline

4.Hacking you are able to hack into computers of anybody on a planet or space station and you will have in game computers with pass codes that you have made and will be coded by you. so if yo are good at coding thwn you can't be hacked and vis versa

that is pretty much it hope you like them

Liquidified and Space0tters! ! like this.

I like some of these ideas, and, since they're in order, I guess I'll give feedback on them in order.

I kinda like this idea. I think that the whole choices aspect is going to be in the game, but it'd probably be different than this.

Not too sure about this. The game's supposed to be suitable for most people, and torture definitely takes away from that.

Also, you wouldn't use medieval methods. This is the future. They have far more efficient ways of getting information out of people, so medieval technology wouldn't cut it.

However, I do like the idea of launching a preemptive strike against enemies by finding out the location of their base, but getting it from torturing someone? That, I'm not too sure about.

This one, I'm not sure about how I feel. I mean, sure, testing on aliens will probably be part of the game. But why can't they be dead aliens? And more importantly, what use would learning about the release of adrenaline have?

    There is no number four.

I like the idea of having in game computers with pass codes, but there are two problems with this.

What would you gain from hacking into the computer? Surely the information found on it isn't that useful.

Also, being good at coding shouldn't give you an advantage in the game. It would be cool to, oh, I don't know, write miniature programs (doubt that's possible though), but creating a firewall to prevent someone from hacking into your computer seems a bit much

fair enough and i'll but what i mean by coding is you tell the computer what to do in a fake language not in c or c++
something so easy your practically telling it English. and the reason on testing on ALIVE aliens is to get more in depth research besides would you test a vaccine for cancer on a dead animal? the adrenaline part was a example. for the torture part you get information you Other wise wouldn't get no matter what diplomacy you did. one question then if you don't get good information from computers then why do people hack them? and lastly the torture doesn't have to be as gruley as it was in the middle ages just them sent into a room for a set amount of time. lastly i want some choice that lets me kill an innocent bystander. i mean what if i want to go on a genocide campaign for all the females factory workers or feminists on the planet?

I must admit, the coding part would be pretty cool, and I'm a bit swayed on the experiments part. However, I think information could be found in a better way - say, if you killed an alien, it might drop a note with the location of its base and a message saying they're planning to attack you.

But in the game, what information would be on the computer? That's what I'm wondering.

ok maybe just random stuff like top secret gun files or research files. and good idea on the note part that sounds good

Choices - Yes. All of my yes. Though I'm thinking there will be something like this in game, as TehEpikMonk said, the devs seem to like freedom so I'm hoping they'll give us freedom in this aspect.

Abduction and torture - Not really my thing, though I'm sure some people would enjoy it. As previously stated, I don't think it's very suitable for this game...I wouldn't like it. Makes the game seem darker than it should be.

Hacking - I kind of like this idea. I don't think it should be really complicated like that, but it would be cool to be able to turn off security systems and such by hacking into computers or something...but the whole bit of how to hack and how a hacking 'skill' could be measured would kind of make it tricky to implement. As a 'skill' it doesn't seem to fit into the game but how else could it be implemented? I dunno.

first off hey at least it isn't as dark as it was in amnesia (oh wait maybe i want it to be that way) but still it really doesn't have to be graphic just you put a guy in a room for a certain amount of time and waterboard him or do some other torture and you don't see him.

and as for the hacking yes it does not have to be complicated but maybe the hacking "Skill" is how well you know what the computers are i mean it could be like you hack computers in shadow run (Example)
Example ---> [IMG] i know it isn't very descriptive but i hope it gives you an idea.

I don't think this game should be comparable to Amnesia...that's a dark game and this...isn't nearly on the same level @_@

I do like the idea of a hacking 'minigame' but still kinda iffy on it. I liked hacking in the Bioshock games and Deus Ex: Human Revolutions. Not sure if hacking would really be useful enough to implement in this game. You can sneak and I'm sure there'll be some ways of breaking into places and disabling security(if it's in the game). It's a good option and I'm sure others would like it but I'm still on the fence.

i know i know it was a joke you are just like the airport TSA officers you can't take a joke (no offence A.K.A Please don't kill me!)

couldnt you for defending yourself against hackers just have a password on your computer that the hacker needs to guess and you just make one up? like lets say i have a computer in starbound, i leave my base to explore with the computer having the password "leaves" then someone comes in. goes on the computer, types in "leaves" and has access to all information i've gathered about planets, animals, blueprints and more. that makes it easy for people who have no coding experience. this allows for easy protection without having to take long times writing codes for firewalls. this also makes hacking computers very hard. and about torturing, i'm not against it, but there are easier and more effective ways to gain information.

    1. hmm good idea how about you have that and they can learn coding as an option 2. what do you suggest diplomacy? but this is if you aren't a good diplomat

no not diplomacy. its the future, think brainstealing and such :p. diplomacy might work but you still dont get everything. i want to torture with lasers and high tech information removal systems that pump the information from their brains :giggle:
