Tools Indestructible?

Hey all,

Built myself a Silver Pickaxe. Noticed the little red bars under it's icon in the toolbar. Watched them deplete as I used the pickaxe. Little red bars have been depleted for an hour or so, but my pickaxe remains.

Is this just a not yet implemented feature damage feature? Is there a way to repair tools? Does using a damaged tool as an ingredient to a tool of a higher caliber repair it?

So many questions.

 

Its likely a feature that will be implemented later on. It is a beta after all.

 

You can repair them using ore of the same tier. Items with no remaining durability are supposed to become unusable but are still able to be repaired.

 

My understanding of it was that a tool that has had it's durability reduced to 0 will be far less effective at what you us it for (in the case of a pick, mining) than one that is at full durability.

So if you're deep underground, you won't get stuck with no tools, just tools that take twice or three times as long to do their job as an undamaged tool would take.

 

You can repair it with ore of any tier, just lower tiers repair it less. EG I repaired my silver pickaxe with copper ore.

 

How do you repair tools? I can't figure out how to do it

 

Pick up ore with your cursor and right click on the tool.

 

To repair select a raw ore and drop it on the tool.

And yes the tool isn't affected until the bar depletes completely then I believe it drops down to the next lowest tier tool until you repair it with ore.

 

oh it has to be RAW ore, not ingots, gotcha.
