Tonight's patch? [Feb 19th]

I can dig that. Although, the "fix" might not be a fix just yet. I'm holding off until the time is right, which should be somewhere around 3035.

 

It worked! My home world and character files were fine (even though my home world was missing 1/3 of its storage containers previously that now are properly there and full), but my ship was still hosed. I stripped it of what I could and then copied in an older version of the ship file from a backup made two days ago (because I am a digital squirrel and compulsively hoard EVERYTHING), which worked. I've got everything in my locker as of that date, as well as the friggin' locker. It was still and Enraged Koala backup file, mind you, so even this-patch files should work just fine.

Also, it was only the one character that had to have the backup-wipe done, the other two pre-Enraged 'toons didn't need modification at all; they logged right in and *poof,* ship and boxes exactly as I'd left them, when I last played them three days to a week ago, before the patch that broke everything. Only the one that I'd played after the break-patch needed any work.

...Aw hell, I hope my starmaps didn't get deleted. *Checks.* Woo-hoo! Still have access to all sectors! Yes, this is beta and I KNOW that data loss/corruption is a possibility, but that doesn't stop me from trying to mitigate it, right?

 

I logged back in and my ship locker was still missing. Copied my player files back over and the locker is back + chest etc so all good there. Only things though: I still can't use a bed or chair. Also some of my planet / base chests are missing - not a big loss but the fact that I still can't use a bed or chair probably means that there's still work to be done?

 

Scratch that. I had to remove and replace beds and chairs. Works fine now.

I don't know what you're talking about, I see nothing to tell me what number hotfix it is on steam, if you actually read the post before me the poster thought it was 3 hotfixes, people on this forum are so quick to point out the smallest thing, jeez so I counted instead of scouring the internet for the actual number does it really require a post to point out? Calm down.

 

Who cares? There was no Leisure Suit Larry 6 either.




We might also get here hotfix 5 then 7 after it.

 

Larry seven was on a cruiser ship and not 3D, what you mean is that other thing "Larry 8" which was not even the real Larry but some cousin or somesuch.

So, out of curiosity, where did you guys find the hotfix number? It would be cool if it showed up on the launch screen with a patch version number. The [insert synonym for angered here] Koala thing is kinda clever, but version numbers would be nice too, especially when we start getting near-daily updates.

No shit. I was hoping it was displayed somewhere else, like in the launch screen. You probably already knew that they didn't mention all 4 of the hotfixes, just the first and the 4th.
