Tonight's patch? [Feb 19th]

Steam has started to download a 227.8mb patch for Starbound, wonder what it's for?

 

I'm guessing it's for Starbound.

Yeah, it would be another hotfix for the new update.

 

The hope is that after the Enraged Koala update, the dev's will be able to push content and updates "near-daily". If this is the case, I wouldn't expect to see a bullet list for every update they actually do make simply because the quality and quantity of content will vary tremendously. I saw a forum admin say that posting a weekly round-up of recent updates might be a good strategy, and I agree. Daily posts become boring and tedious, whereas a weekly update might provide substantial information that we actually look forward to. (unless they fail to meet whatever deadlines they lock themselves into, then the forums turn into a shitshow of entitled babies screaming for attention). Oh, I mean informed critical feedback.

Well, looking the new blog posts on the home page, I reckon I should stay off starbound for a bit; I don't want my ship locker getting destroyed.

 

Ah, so this is the patch they stated that would include some of the content they forgot?

If so that's fantastic! I can gather Valentine's stuff and put it in my....*looks at the empty spot where the Ship Locker was and cries*

 

The patch is supposed to FIX that, lol.

 

Could be... It's kind of hard for me to keep track of. I can't play SB on this computer. I know they released the Enraged Koala patch, then 2(?) hotfixes yesterday. If OP is keeping up to date, this would be the third hotfix (I think). I'm kind of assuming that they may have put some of the cosmetic stuff like valentines items on hold in lieu of more prevalent issues like storage lockers and fuel system fixes.

 

Well, last I saw and read one of the devs stated that the only way to get back those parts of your ship is to reset your ship via deleting your shipworld file. This would delete everything on your ship, so best to move it off onto a planet prior.

And any items you've lost because of the hotfix are gone. There's no getting those back at all.

Right. My girlfriend is playing and she noticed her ship locker was gone and a couple crates. She moved everything to surface, closed SB, deleted her shipworld file, then loaded the game. The ship locker came back, but everything that was in it plus those few crates are all gone. Lost all of our instruments and handful of spawners. meh, such is beta.

 

I count 4 updates in less than 2 days. The valentine stuff was in before as I saw a heart shaped forge before I realized the chest that had the stuff I needed to make it had vanished. Or maybe I dreamed it I'm not sure anymore.
