That is the key to pixel riches: Refinery. Look it up on the wiki if you aren't sure about the functionality.

You need to play smarter, if nothing else, that's for sure. Refinery!

I love the graphics, the sounds, the playstyle, the mechanics, the humor, the difficulty, and I love that I can be a robot :p

I dislike the random-jumbled-mess we call planets in Starbound. Planets don't seem to follow any normal pattern to make then look like a planet. they are mostly just a bunch of randomly generated mountains hap-hazardly stuck together. I feel that once Ive seen a Jungle world, Ive seen them all.

More variation between worlds of the same biome through stricter controls on the generation of any single random planet to help enphasize differences between one planet and the next. That'd be sweet

Music has been knocked out of the park. 'nuff said.

Not so fond of the fuel/pixel costs at the moment. (I believe these will get balanced.)

Why would i be forced to mine if i want to grind? Why cant i just have fun fighting creatures when i think mining isnt so fun?

Your argument serves for both sides.

I like the bandit hood thing.
I don't like the lack of boss refightability.
Solution: make there be multiple recipes for each boss drop.

The planet Jupiter is a gas giant (like the ones found in game) and has 67 moons. Saturn (another gas giant) has 62 moons. The clusters of "planets" in game are actually moons orbiting gas giants. I don't think the number of them is unreasonable.

-I the vastness of the in-game universe.
-I don't like the size of the individual "planets". I think they are way too big. With their current size I feel like I have to choose between leaving each one I visit mostly unexplored or spending hours digging and spelunking.
-If the planets were very small ( as in you could fully explore each one in about 5-30 minutes) there would be more incentive to visit more planets and there would be a sense of closure after leaving each one (since you could feel that you didn't miss anything). Planets with dungeons and villages would look fuller and more colonized as well. Since the universe is practically infinite there would still be the same about of terrain in the game.

I like the concept of virtually infinite solar systems, planets, environments and creatures to discover.

I don't like the bland, unrealistic, immersion-killing cookie-cutter "sameness" of the virtually infinite solar systems, planets, environments and creatures I've discovered.

Solution: Greater variety of planets, planetary environments, and creatures (appearance notwithstanding). Add unique features, enough that certain combinations will really make a planet stand out from the others and make it truly one-of-a-kind. Make solar systems more believable for the love of god

I absolutely love the occasionally Unsettling discoveries you make when going under the surface. desolated gnome cities, broken ruins with a suspicious merchant at the end, buried lab domes with the eerie red alarm lights flashing, telling a story of some great accident that buried or scattered the facility beneath the sands.

I like obsessively inspecting every object I find and seeing the different comments my various characters make.
I don't like how long it takes for some crops to grow.
Besides simply reducing the time it takes for them to crow, perhaps increase the yields of grown crops or have crops constantly grow on your home planet even if you're not on it, if that's feasible?

    Solution, make the game harder.

I love the fact that you have an entire universe to explore with a large variety of worlds all with different shinies to find.

I don't like that the navigation is extremely clunky, and planetary 'bases' are inefficient due to fuel cost and travel time - and you end up having to move your base and rebuild once you finally got it looking nice ...(by time I got to delta, it was easier to re-kill the bosses than try to 'find' where my beta base was to go fetch my crafting tables that I forgot to bring). As a result your inventory ends up all cluttered or limited to what you can store on your ship which can hold a limited amount of 'furniture'.

Suggestion: Skip 'spooling ftl drive sequence' (maybe you can already? I couldn't work out how); reduce fuel cost to something you don't need for so many other things as coal and wood are both pretty high-use. Maybe the ability to recycle the absolutely absurd amounts of dirt/mud/stone/moonstone/moonrock/moondust/etcetc you end up hauling around into something useful. At one point I had 6 different stacks of dirt and 4 different stacks of cobblestone, all virtually indistinguishable in color, that wouldn't stack because they were from different areas. Maybe allow converting these or stacking them to majority color. When you craft packed dirt/cobblestones its always brown, gray, regardless of material colour used, should reflect the actual color otherwise why have so many different ones? :pO

I'm not a whiner or anything, but I do like how you've asked for positive/negative/and advice. =)

I like that this game has given me everything that Terarria did not have.
I'm not sure what I don't like since I know that my irritations will eventually be fixed/implemented.
Solution would be... being patient =)

    Aligyon Astral Cartographer

I like how you can spawn your own villagers and eventually form a civilization on your own. The different racial(glitch, apex, etc) comments in game spices up the interaction between npcs, it's hilarious to read.

I hate that things that doesn't have anything to do with combat (lanterns, spawners, etc) is locked by the boss tiersystem.

The solution? Just be patient :) the devs are working on it

  19. Yuvs

    Yuvs Tentacle Wrangler

I like the framework of the game. It has so much potential to become the next "minecraft".

I don't particalarly dislike anything within the game at this point since most of the content hasn't been implemented yet but on a more fundamental level I don't like how we obtain items. I think in this regard, Terraria was better. The best items in Terraria could be crafted by gathering components through mobs/ores/bosses, while in Starbound it's all just luck.

Solution: Make the crafting system more Monsterhunter-like and obtaining the best items in the game less random. Make blueprints more complicated that would require us to visit other planets just to get the materials to craft items. It would add so much if I had a specific reason to go to a Desert planet or a Molten planet.

Mobs in this game are randomly generated using pre-made parts that are randomly put together. There is so much potential in this system. You could have a monster hunter like system where specific parts are needed to craft weapons.
