To be honest, are you going for n00bie mode first?

I've said it quite a few times, but I am hoping that Survival difficulty and Combat Difficulty are separate. x.x I do NOT want to play on super hardcore mode just to get the hardcore survival stuff. Cause if I can't play with full survival stuff without having perma-death, I'm gonna be freaking mad.

Though on the question. Going to go with probably mid range difficulty. (Hardcore survival if possible)

  2. With most games I just turn on the normal difficulty setting, unless I've played a game in the series already, in which case I'd want the game to be more difficult.

I would like to be able to change game modes if the difficulty is to easy but right now I need more information on what changes in each game mode .

Edit : I play on normal to start out with on most games, then when I start to get to know what i am doing I go up. I play rouge-likes also so I know how to keep alive if this game has a perma-death option but that may be a post game update.

I'll probably go through on normal. Playing with friends is going to make it hard enough (we tend to screw each other over a lot).

I don't have enough information on the difficulties yet to choose, but I will most likely go for the middle ground first.

Normal mode sounds about right, starting it up with my husband and we'll see just how tough the universe gets~ :giggle:

I'm going for Normal. No n00bie or hard-core...Normal. Casual. However the underworld its called. Personally, I'm an explorer. Wanna go out there, and find all kinds of stuff. Lore, items, weird planets and so on. I just want to have normal challenges, just like in real life. Someon may or may not stab you while on an alley. IRL, you will never encounter a bunch of dangerous, hungry dogs looking for some prey while in the park (unless you're a Romanian like me). So normal all the way!

If I were to play a very hard and punishing mode, I would choose one that burn your PC up. This way I could avoid even God's wrath...

I'll most likely go on the most "normal" setting.

I'm not sure what difficulties there are, or what they entail but I will be playing whatever is the equivalent to "normal" my first play through.
If I find it too easy, I'll bump it up for my next character.

As someone earlier mentioned, I already play FTL to torment myself. I'll be going a bit easy.

I can't see n00bie being as rewarding as Hardcore. I'm definitely going for hardcore right off that bat, I love the sense of achievement you get when playing hardcore.

I'll be avoiding Permadeath, mostly on account that I want to build things. Elaborate things. Like deathtraps and massive towers full of hazards.
Lacking contract help, that means I'm prone to getting DERP'd more than a few times.

No permadeath/item loss for me, k thx. :p
Normally you lose pixels for death and that's the option I'll go with.

I'll likely turn on the optional hunger requirement.
It seems like fun. I always enjoyed having a little farm or ranch on Minecraft. :)
All the better if I get to omnom some meat on my Floran! Rawr!

I will absolutely be doing so. I dislike permadeath immensely.

I do Permadeath in most games unless if i got a legit logical resone to be bought back to life be it Cloneing, Magic, ect So mostly will not do hardcore but middleground but hopfuly i lose all items on death as that makes more sense to me for cloning unless if they grab my lost items and put them into a small area for me. Something like that

Ain't nobody got time for that! Or in other words. I play casual mostly, haha. Whatever "normal" mode is is what I'll shoot for. Though sometimes I feel particularly masochistic. :)

During those periods you could take a vacation to Dwagon's 'Towers of Misfortune and Elaborate Derps' (copyright pending).

I'll be playing on the hardest difficulty, as long as it's not one death and you're out type of deal.
