Tiy's Twitter post: could monster size vary?!

It just stroke me by looking at this new picture: could monster size actually change? I mean, look closely at that monster's pixels. You can easily see that its pixels are way smaller than those of the environment or those of the Avian player, which means that, possibly, there'd be a system in place to resize the generated monsters to diferent heights! Even after assembling a monster with different parts and coloring it, there'd still be the size choice that could affect its appearance!

Could it be that we'd have a similar option for character creation? Of course, I don't dare talking about BIG size changes since we all need to fit in the same doors, but it'd be cool if we could make our characters 1 or 2 pixels shorter or taller just to increase the variety even more.

God, this game... it just looks the best right now. Please continue the good work, Chucklefish! ^^

EDIT: Apparently, Tiy DID confirm in irc that monsters now scale in size. So you can have small ones like these or bigger ones!

 

Maybe they're 'juvenile' forms? Think of prefixes in other games. Legendary Dungeon Skitterer, Mundane Dungeon Skitterer, Godlike Dungeon Skitterer and so on?

Who knows, the pixels are definitely off, though!

I immediatly thought of epic monsters from SPORE.

 

Looks like some sort of vase, but whats in it? Maybe it has money in it! ...or maybe space spiders. Who knows!

 

does anyone else see the rubber duckys?

 

Might be some kind of a pot like there were in Terraria(which I liked very much).

yep, up in the top left corner, 2 little duckys sitting there, you have to look real hard.

 

Maybe colors varify too?Instead of the engine creating a random monster with a randon color, it could indentify a monster by it's pieces/shape, not shape and colors.So when the game spawns a specific monster, he gives it random colors and repeats it with every monster it spawns.

 

The true reason that the monsters have different pixel to environment ratio is because the photo is a fraud.

I think these ones aren't various in size, they look little different because the right one is walking(his back leg is up), but I think this would be awesome to see baby turtle-thing-monster and it's daddy looking different. The sizes of monsters are the same, but when you compare a pixel from the avian to the pig turtles, you find that they have different ratios.
