What about the whole "putting your credit card into the floppy disk/cd drive" thing.

The issue that some people have is a sense of entitlement, a belief that one is deserving of or entitled to certain privileges. They think that it is their given right and privilege to get the game when it's said to be out, and when that does not occur, frustration and anger ensues. An arrogant sense of entitlement shows up all over life and the world, from feeling entitled to certain governmental aid to feeling like someone should be an exception due to reason x or y. To a great degree, that is commentary on the person's own personal problems and impatience (and for some, arrogance, immaturity, etc.), and one would do well to rid entitlement from their way of thinking.

I'm saying it seems like you're pissed off or perturbed by more than just a few people raging over a missed release date of a video game.

WTF? Did you even read it? In no way was I pissed. It's a comment on the word, entitlement, and that many people feel entitled to a release of the game. Why must I have to be pissed to say that? Sounds like you're the one that must be affected, feeling the need to reply as you did. Otherwise, you wouldn't feel the need.

Edit: Don't know how I double posted, sorry.

We must have a language barrier or something, because you clearly have no clue how to just read a post for what it is instead, but rather you extrapolate very unintended things. Read it 10 more times, think about it. A sense of entitlement is a dangerous thing. Perhaps it does not apply to you, but perhaps you have also not seen how silly some people have acted over a delay in release. They feel that somehow they have the right to the game being released. Is this a hard concept to grasp? For me to express that, I could be calm, or passionate, or whatever, but I do not have to be angry. You and I are two very different people. Do not project your assumptions of what I felt onto me.

Also, instead of picking apart what you think the poster felt, can we be mature and stick with what was actually said?

  12. Read this just now. I think the whole "sectors' thing is pretty cool.

  13. Well, no specific "sectors", just the way tech progression was worded.
A: New tech is available to find in each new sector you unlock as you progress through the game. Whilst of course armor and weapons get stronger and do new and interesting things. I'm trying to keep tech useful enough that it never just gets outright replaced by something objectively better. So there's not so much a gap, as there is new gameplay opening up.

The thing I liked the most about this Q&A is the part where he said tech will give you more movement options, I like this because it might mean megaman x movement options like slide, dash or jump dash will be available which might give a chance to melee build to enjoy melee and do pvp without getting owned by range weapon.

That interview was fantastic! So much awesome stuff. But personally... I'm thinking that Q1-2013 is no longer realistic :(

I'm wondering a bit if individual planets will have enough variety to make exploration fun if limited to a single biome, but that's probably something that will be easy to address if necessary.

an increase movement range that includes things like wall-kicking, dashing, air-dashing, edge-grabbing and stuff like that would be awesome. in games that allows it (prototype, DCU, etc) i love doing parkour around cities just for the heck of it.
    it'd be awesome

The word entitlement has negative (and assuming) connotation around it to me now. It's being used by (angered) groups against other groups pretty much every day now. And you've just used it like 10 times

But wouldn't it be assumptive to think that I must be angry by saying it?

I do see what you're saying though. It wasn't my intention to come across as angry. I am reminded of a lot of politically-charged comments or articles I've seen using the world "entitlement" that were very angry or one-sided, so I can see the emotion that the word can carry. From my point of view, my paradigm, I did not take the word that way. But, my bad. Nonetheless, terminology aside, some people do seem to feel that they deserve to have the game when they feel they were told it would be out. Most people on here are not like that, though, we have a pretty mature and good community. But youtube...holy crap. There's a lot of punks on there.
