Tiy responded on the question for Creative Mode and I was wondering...what if the blocks in creative mode only became available as you discover them in the game? People in-game could trade certain blocks that another player could want.

If one player liked to do only creative mode, and they have a friend that enjoys the story mode gameplay, it could allow one player to share new blocks and tech while another player could test out interesting applications or design :3

Creative Mode player could play around with NPC creator, with some of those NPCs appearing in another player's game. This sounds a bit like Sp*re >_<

That completely defeats the purpose of having it as is in the first place.

It would be nice if there'll be a space station that gives off a Dead Space feel, derelict, abandoned, claustrophobic corridors and dead silence. Walking through the station in search of technology or something, and bam - crazy monster-human/alien thing comes from no-where.

    ALSO- vehicles
Awsome. All sorts of game mechanics could come from vehicles.

Q: In followup of world gen, is every world, on a set co-ordinate generated in the exact same way, if not, what are the differences? What is concrete and what is randomized?

A: It will be more or less the same. We've been wondering if we should randomise the location of loot. There are good for and against arguments for that. But generally yeah they're the same, we want you to be able to make a discovery at a particular set of coordinates and share it.

-I don't like this at all, to me, the replay ability is in the randomization, for example, if the coordinates were all the same, then if I started a new character or something, then I would know "I can go here for this and I can go there for that" in my opinion, leaving everything as the same coordinates would make the game suffer

That may be so, but looking at the star navigation map, you ween need to travel from system to system to reach it, and since you probably would spawn at some other coordinates each time, chances are you would probably have said stuff before you could reach it.
the game is huge, with around god knows how many(some guy said about 8 billion?) planets, chances are you would never see the same planet twice

Unless you can instantly travel to the coordinates(which I think you can), then what you said would be true. Then it is all up to the player to decide if they want to exploit this or not.

So, only 3 creatures at a time? So much for my T-Rex Army.
I'm definetely looking forward to the pets system the most, it just sounds so attrative paired up with the random monster generation.

The second thing I'm looking forward to is the ship system. I'm wondering about how much customization there will be.
I really do hope they release the ship images soon.

  10. Q: What's the funniest glitch you guys have run into?

A: We once had a glitch where if you open the navigation screen, then teleport down to the planet, it didn't close. So you'd have access to the navigator whilst you were on the planet, not your ship. And when you chose to fly to somewhere new... Twilight zone. Basically the planet tried to fly to another planet.

Best moment of the session. :p

okay, so because YOU can't handle not revisiting the same planet because you know loot is there, the rest of US should suffer not being able to share cool planets?
get the idea of "randomization" out of your head, it's procedural generation, not random generation.

And what about PvP servers? Or any server for that matter where the items you have might have more use than just fun?

I'm going to try and avoid going to coords that I know the contents of, but it's going to really bug me if I'm looking for something even though I know I can get one easily by going over to a planet I've already been on, or that I've read about online

Also, the benefit of 'sharing cool planets' doesn't seem worth it to me, I can't see myself using the feature. The negative effects far out way the positive ones in my opinion

  14. I'm also not too happy about knowing exactly where to go when I reach a certain tier level to acquire X gear. It does take some of the fun out of the game, I believe - merely the concept of knowing that you can go to a specific location in order to acquire specific gear already removes some of the exploration interest. I think that this would generate standardised online guides and most people's playthroughs would fall into a pattern, "Ok, when I finish this planet, I can get the Sword of Thousand Flames from 12, 24, 76 coordinates, then after I'm done there, I can head on to that water planet to grab my Snail Shell Helmet..." and so forth.

Of course people aren't forced to go to those locations, but the thing is, there is not much motivation in exploring other places when knowing exactly where you can get certain items. It's a fantastic feeling opening a chest and getting an unexpected good item.

I'm okay with having planets' terrains generate for everyone equally, but I seriously hope that the loot is randomised according to its level, so, for instance, going to a level 100 planet, you'd get randomised level 100 gear. I believe that through this, the game becomes much richer and thus induce people in exploring/travelling to whatever planets they want to, as loot isn't certain, rather than go to that specific areas.

the loot itself is random. chests are in the same place (at least, currently: tiy is weighing the pros and cons of making chests spawn randomly), but the loot in them is random.

I hope he goes for chests spawning randomly, else there's still the problem of finding a ton of chests near a tier 10 planet's spawn and having that become the first place you go when you get to tier 10

I don't mind terrain being the same, although I hope buildings and towns are also randomized
