    Code:
    Video Format: H.264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 preferred
Aspect Ratio: Native aspect ratio without letterboxing (examples: 4:3, 16:9)
    Resolution: 640x360 (16:9) or 480x360 (4:3) recommended
Audio Format: MP3 or AAC preferred
    Frames per second: 30
Maximum length: 10 minutes (we recommend 2-3 minutes)
    Maximum file size: 1 GB
These are old YouTube video instructions that I copied so I could find it fast.
If Tiy and Co. would post a video of a normal game situation he shouldn't need commentary of any kind.
Let the game speak for itself; let the sounds in the game be heard; let the generated monsters appear.
If the video generates questions, good. The fans will speculate.

When I make videos, I usually go with a custom format so that the audio is compressed at 320kbs.
Takes a little larger file, but well worth it.
It sounds like Tiy is ready to put up a video and it will be any day now. :)

So you want him to post a video so you can see how its quality and how it is encoded, or am I misunderstanding something here?

But, why only do the bare minimum when going all out is so much more awesome? And in case you didn't notice, Tiy seems to be a bit of a perfectionist. He wants to make sure what he shows us is good. Probably part of the reason they don't show very much videos (apart from the fact that they take up time away from development of the game). Hope this helped.

I suggest being patient. Theres so many other wonderful games you could be catching up while waiting for this one! I personally played me some old Kirby games from the Collection. Good riveting childhood stuff :) *minus the dying 50 times* *Again*

I'm confused. What was the point of the video uploading info? I think Tiy knows how to make and upload a video.

  7. As a result of this thread, I also conclude that tiy should post a video. Of his cat. Batting an olive around.

"What if he doesn't have a cat?" you may ask yourselves. "Well then," I reply, "perhaps he should consider getting one."

good thing tiy's a bit of a perfectionist, it will make our game better, which means after about +-10 years we sure have some badass memories of this game.

I'd love to see a gameplay video. But even more I'd love to get my hands on the game before year 2013. Maybe even before Christmas.

I remember long time ago, they posted a video of the flash light demonstration, and at the end of that video it says "gameplay video coming soon!", its been like a year since? Still not decent gameplay video, makes me wonder. Not like its very difficult to make 5 minutes of player walking around killing stuff and digging.

Read about how the combat system works, it's a bit more complex than that, and this game most certainly isn't about digging.
Most important thing to remember is if they release a video on something then change their mind and change it, it can create serious issues.
And combat is the most complex part of that. If the blocking or the swinging or anything changes (And we still don't know much about that)
    There could be serious repercussions.

    <@Tiyuri> for post release

<@Tiyuri> I need to do a video of the building system

I'd love a video of the dev's characters in costume, acting out The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Now THAT would be a video I'd watch. Along with any other video they put out. Wouldn't we all?

When I first saw this thread all I saw were the words Tiy, Post, and Video, so I was like OMG OMG TIY RELEASED A NEW GAMEPLAY VIDEO, so I went to the front page and saw nothing new so then I came back here and noticed the word 'should', and got all sad like.

So confused. Why did you put that code there? (also maximum length= 10 minutes? there are 30 hour videos!)
and what information lead you to conclude that Tiy is ready to put up a video 'any day now'? I felt like that entire post was just random statements.

I'd just like to point out for the sake of specs that you can actually upload any kind of video file on YouTube, with any type of encoding - be it for video or audio -, and you also have complete freedom over the resolution you use. Furthermore, YouTube's regular length has been extended from its previous 10 minutes for normal users to 15 minutes. However, you can 'verify' your account using your phone number, which will allow you to upload infinite videos.

Just thought I'd throw that in there.

On-topic: I'm a Starbound video maker and I'd be okay if they didn't give me anything to talk about. Honestly. I'm quite comfortable when the development team is silent, mainly because it means that they're busy. Online activity isn't necessarily a synonym of work and time spent working on the game. It could actually be the exact opposite of it.

In fairness, Tiy is a perfectionist. If you see the thread very appropriately linked to by KwickPhyre you will get a very nice sense of this. I'll actually include that information on my next video.

All in all: if a development doesn't show anything (anything properly substantial and not just a a few screenshots, mind you), you needn't worry. They haven't gave up on life in a vortex of drunken and errant activities. They're just making the game as best as they can. I think that this particular team has given us very few motives to be concerned about quality of work. So why don't we just give them their time? And space ;)

EDIT: And, lol, he was just streaming cool game footage.
