This slightly unoriginal idea revolves around a type of planet that probably belongs in Starbound. That planet is based off of Saturn's monstrous moon Titan, a bitterly cold world with roughly 1.8 times the mass of our own moon. Titan has a thick, nitrogen-containing atmosphere that periodically rains natural gas, and this natural gas fills lakes at Titan's poles. This planet type would be quite similar to Titan, with a hazy orange atmosphere and icy, brownish surface. The natural gas lakes would be black and would do damage if the player swam in them due to their bitterly cold temperature. The hydrocarbon rain would also be damaging, so players would have to quickly build a structure to avoid dying from a torrential downpour. This would no doubt be considered a "hard" danger level planet type.
Huh...Planets like that would be...Interesting Oh btw, you know you can edit your post right? you can merge your 1st and 2nd post together
I like this idea a lot. Sounds like the action would be frantically paced. Though, it would lose most of it's touch later into the game when the player get's good armor/hazard suits.
actually, Titan is very similar to the earth, with the difference that here, the element that is in the 3 states is Methane, which forms rivers, lakes, falls in form of rain and snow and evaporates in clouds. I think it would be a good idea to use something similar, where you must use a spacesuit. Also, if there are unique mobs in this kind of planets, they won't be the first ones, since Unggoy (Grunts) from Halo live in a planet with a methane atmosphere, and they breath from methane tanks when in other planets.
