Tips & Tricks to play Starbound Q&A

Hy Starbounders I'm making this thread for Q&A.
If you don't know how to make or do something in the game please ask and if you know the answer to someones question please answer them.
It is some kind of community help the new guy or something like that
and perhaps those of you who are active on Starbound Wiki can add useful info to that site.

I thought of this thread because I know that Starbound community is the best one out there and manny people like to help out if they know how.
So please help to shape this thread to be how to guide (every gameplay information in one thread)

 

My first question is there any way to set where "teleport to planet" (set up a spawn area)?

 

How do you make better Weapons?

 

For Quicker progression, go on mining expeditions to higher tier planets, ores appear more often on higher tier planets, or so I have found so far, and try to ignore the wildlife as best as you can if you can't handle them, wall yourself off from them.

 

My suggestion is to find as many chests as possible (you can get schematics for awesome weapon or awesome weapon)
I went to lvl 10 planet and found super duper spear with high armor piercing points (most monsters i encounter I kill them with one stab)

 

Do trees regrow? As I was playing I noticed that trees don't grow so I hat to go to other planets to get trees.

 

But with what armor did you go to a level 10 Planet? I have full Silver at the moment. But i'm currently wielding 2 level 5 Lite swords.

 

It's kinda hard right now and i don't judge when new players who don't play stuff like Terraria before have problem with it.

You need to kill first boss then u will have option to make steel, which is needed to make better weapons, just build house with little hole in it and spend 20 min shooting that boss. It takes 20 min but unlock a lot of new stuff

 

I think it was bronze, I died a lot but sometimes the way is clear to the chest (monsters spawn randomly) also have some dirt with you to block yourself from monsters, you can also kill a monster through a wall if your melee weapon riches it.

 

Do you mean UFO bos or any other monster boss?
I already killed UFO boss and got the main component to build better furnace and anvil (don't remember the right name)

 

how to make steel ingots (NOT iron ingots)

 

I pretty much finished Terraria haha! Is that how long it takes to kill the boss? Holy moly. I had 2 attempts, first time he destroyed me (wasn't aware that the Beacon summoned boss) and second time, the spastic flew away! -.-

What planet would you recommend?

 

Not yet, but according to Tiy this is a top priority to get in-game, along with the ability to set your spawn point on a planet.

 

lvl 10 or more (to get to lvl 11+ you will need to kill UFO boss to get an upgrade part for your ship navigation system.

and abaout UFO bos i think that ufo boss makes himself invisible so if you hit him when invisible he will show up again

 

Iron + coal on the anvil you unlock after first boss.

 

It does take a very long time, if you are using lower grade weapons. I failed the first boss 6 times before I realized that the weapons I had weren't cutting it. I suggest that you find plenty of fuel for your ship, and begin searching nearby planets. You can find weapons and upgrades sometimes right on the surface of the planet. Not to mention more resources. I was able to progress much faster doing this.

As long as you've upgraded to the Iron Bow you'll be fine in planets 1-5. The key is to play cautious and aim carefully. Finding some blueprints or a legendary weapon can make your fights much easier.

 

Hi! I was really wondering how you can manually change the facing direction of the objects you place.

East and West! For now i've been randomly moving the item around and hoping it will suddenly face the right direction...
Is there an key to instantly influence this?

 

Yes! When you have the object selected press the Left or Right ("A" or "D") accordingly to turn the object.
