Forward After reading theSuggestion Compilation Thread, which included the mention of a gigantic planet, on which everything seems much larger to the player than normal (E.g. An ant looming overhead, needing climbing gear to get to the top of a flower), I came up with this idea. Summary On tiny planets, as the name might suggest, everything, except the player, seems to have been shrunken down. Normally large things would now be your size, and things smaller than you would now be crushed beneath your feet as you walked about. Your thoughts?
Would this include mobs as well? And, if it did, would the loot be super small as well? More seriously, this would be fine, especially for short people. No offense meant by that statement. Something I'd particularly like to see is how the inhabitants of the planet (the sentient ones, that is), react to your presence. Would they worship you as a god, or try to kill you? To me, it would be cool to observe the effects a giant has on the planet.
Yes, it would include the mobs. I think that the reactions of the planet's mobs would vary by the intelligence of the species. For semi-intelligent to intelligent species, if they were craven they might hide inside their little houses/dwellings or fell, if they were slightly more intelligent than a beast they might come out and follow (or even assist) you, and if they were courageous they might pick up their tiny weapons and attack you. Unintelligent mobs would have similar reactions, but said reactions would be toned down to a more primal state. On the subject of drops, I believe the drops would be able to be collect in a tiny form, E.g. tiny rifle, tiny steel bar, tiny claw, and brought back to your space station where their size could be made larger by means of a size-altering ray, but for a price of course. However, I think that unscathed tiny items should be rare, and most of the time you should receive bits of scrap metal, the broken weapons and items, which could be later refined, with lots of scrap metal bits, into bars of a normal metal.
Is there any chance that we could take some of these things back home with us as pets? I'd really like a little poptop aquarium type thing.
Sounds like an excellent idea to me, but all tiny planets should probably be low difficulty or else tiny demonic beings will slowly kill you.
I actually thought about that. It'd be fun to keep little things in a hamster cage or something of that sort.
This might go well with my shrink ray idea. Instead of shrinking down to 1x1 blocks, why not make yourself extremely small for tiny planets?
Because then whats the difference between that and exploring regular planets? This might work if only the people were tiny and the whole planet was regular sized, making a lone poptop a massive boss fight, which I admit would be kind of cool, but that ruins the whole idea of a tiny planet.
Yeah,I must admit I didn't do much thinking with that. Or any, really. Unless the planet had special things on it,like tiny animals you can ride while in your 1x1 state.
Maybe before you can visit a tiny planet you must be shrunken down yourself? For a price ofc. Then you won't have to make multiple items of all items lol.
maybe you have to skrink yourself to talk to the people and go in caves and such, but not just to go onto the world.
This idea gives me a mental image of a character towering over a city, monster movie music playing in the background as the people run away screaming and sirens sound all over town. A tiny tank drives up to him and tries to shoot him, but he just picks it up and tosses it at the rest of the army...
