I'm fine with the first boss being a penguin saucer and all that, but didn't like how you fought it, you pretty much just had to wait for it to smash itself to pieces right? Or did I see that wrong...

Well, you either watched it smash itself while trying to shoot it, waited for it to smash itself so you could melee it, or watch it smash itself it seemed.

I don't think it was taking damage when it was ramming, i could be wrong, and ontop of that you had to fight off all those minions. I personally liked the boss, i don't see why people had a problem with it.

It seemed like there was a tutorial, but they just glossed over it, then had problems figuring out how things worked.

I guess it may have just seemed like that because it took the same amount of damage every time it hit the ground and it seemed like the players did none. I'm fine with it hitting the ground and it being vulnerable but if it actually DOES just kill itself then I think something needs to be changed. Other than that, I'm fine with the boss.

If that indeed is the case then i have to agree. I would rather see an independance day death beam blowing everything up than a kamikaze boss.

Or hell, even a gatling beam that fires penguins rapidly obliterating everything in sight. But then again that was the first boss, and the other ones could be much more of a challenge.

Not to flame, but I've been seeing your negative opinions fly all over the place about the "generic" boss. Please elaborate on what you find to be a boss that isn't generic. Please be creative and imagine your own boss. Let everyone know, and give us some incite how how magnificent and original you can be.

I think what he means to say is that bosses like that have been done thousands of times before. I really don't see why you couldn't connect what he meant by that.

Don't read too deep or get me twisted though, i still liked the boss, but it has been done. Which also validates his points.

I still haven't had any character reach level 9999, and I've had Hour of Darkness (DS version) for years.

Yes, but he obviously isn't being helpful either. I don't see any form of productive criticism except pouting and whining through multiple threads. Obviously he isn't pleased, and neither are dozens of others. The Devs. obviously listen to feedback though, so why slander the entire live-stream in multiple threads when he can make his own thread and discuss his opinion in length there. (Which he did, so why wonder around all these threads) And I really want to know what none generic is to him, so stop holding his hand please and let him answer.

It's called venting. He's frustrated, and taking it out is the best way to alleviate it.

You have a valid point, you do.

But i wouldn't bet money the devs listen as much as one may think they do, they have specific ideas in mind that even with all the updates and feedback they give and receive, some things still remain a mystery for various reasons i could list.

But now i can see that you are loosing your cool.

I'm not holding his hand at all, i'm just pointing out the obvious that somehow eluded someone who projects themselves as a fellow intellectual, who is also doing the same thing as the person you are criticizing at this very moment.

People who are talking about REFUND are just so funny, and making all the funders and team feeling bad I'm sure. What the h*** are you all waiting from them to show? People are asking for the beta and refund etc. Get the hell out of it, what you trying to do? To witness a game evolving with the help of the community, or you just wanna ruin a dream come true?

The team making an amazing progress through the year as I'm following the issues, but it's all about the community. Please don't make them make the game fast as soon as possible, let them having their time. F*** your all $15, really? I'm behind the team, and if they ask for even 2014 Spring, I will let them do their things, it's their job and I respect to them for the great thing they have done.

All in all, give the damn time to the team, and they will come us back with a superior game which can be played. Then if you want the game sooooo early, then it will probably come with lots of lack of features, but having many bugs. It's not gonna be playable because team will try to do the fastest solution that gonna come their minds, and it's not the way of making a good game.

Keep the all the good work Starbound Team, greetings from Turkey! <3

Yes, well the lack of maturity is also frustrating for the community and damaging. People ride off of other peoples vibes a majority of the time (Obviously why reviews, peer-to-peer, and other marketing tools work). So it's painful to see one member going around raising hell because what he saw was a) A Test build, b) Not even completed, c) Didn't play it himself. Basing all off visuals is a mistake, you don't look at a book and say "wow I'm bored".. instead you open it, read it, forget it's even a book and become immersed in a story, something that is clearly non present here. Every community has their few obnoxious ones, but I simply would rather them spout out something constructive rather than deconstructive.

You do know that some of these people have been waiting *much much* longer than you and I, yes? I agree, some patience is to be warranted, but it's not as though they're just off their rockers.

Also, Zukratis, you have a valid point. He could be far more thoughtful and constructive. Not everyone thinks that far ahead though, especially when venting.

These are also usually idol threats as well though. You wouldn't get a refund after waiting what.. 2 years? lol People who state that either do it and come back on release anyways or just find it relieving to hear other people stress about their supposed action. (To garner attention of course)

The game is fine and looks amazing. The yogcast team are just bad players and always have been. They joke around instead of playing the game.

They didn't even travel to another planet, they took forever to finish the intro quests that you are suppose to do within 10 minutes of making the game... then they just ran around killing stuff and built a half-assed house. They should of at least traveled to a few planets, and definitely not focused on building stuff as much as they did. They got almost nothing done in the hour they played, and because of that they showed off basically .01% of the content.

This is why letting "e-celebs" present your game is a bad idea. You need to put 3-4 dedicated fans up there that have been following the game from the start, and knows what to expect. The devs themselves should of played. Duncan seemed to understand the game, the other two were laughable and needed to be babysat at every turn.

I agree with some of this, but we are severely limited on the amount of feed back and criticism for the game that we can give when we have the most limited access at this current time. Your best bet is to ignore the refunders that got tired for whatever reason and just try to understand from everyone's point of view.

And again, i think you miss the point of the beta. Its supposed to have many bugs and lack of features, well unless you count traditional betas which just have many bugs. If you want to wait until 2014 for the game, go right ahead. That's your cup of tea, and i agree that more time spent on a game can make it better, but releasing a beta that has no real ETA so people have things they can test and such to help progress the game along and to provide more efficiently educated feedback will probably help the game go much further than keeping it under lock and key until the devs feel its ready. I mean, look at how limited people's feedback is?

Its all the same stuff over and over again from the same stuff we had seen for over 4 months or more.

If it wasn't for the daily updates, i would argue that the game was squealing its wheels and getting nowhere. But even then i am skeptical about how much of the updates are actually 100% fact and not just exaggeration after the latest cast.

The people who are getting upset have every right to be, no matter how many neigh sayers come in to point and laugh at their rage. They were promised something and they feel cheated. Nothing you say will really change how they feel about it. So why say anything at all?

And lastly, them releasing beta early in no way prevents them from continuing to spend time on its development. Besides, if you have seen the streams and the latest cast you would realize that it wouldn't be an early beta at all.
