Tier 10 stuff is too easy to get right now.

I recall most rocket launchers have 57 energy, you mean 4 shots, actually I think you can shoot a 5th and you'll bottom out and have to fully recharge to fire again.

I agree though tier 10 rocket launchers are total overkill. But as everyone is saying, well the weapons clearly aren't meant to be in the game. It's a result of the procedural generator and developers counting moons as if they are "tier 10". The tier 10 rockets do more damage then the Deus Ex Machina, the Deus Ex GEP GUN, the thing which one shots stupidly heavily armored tanks.

the deus ex sucks anyways because the laser guidance does not include enemy hitboxes to guide them there, so who cares, one of the most "meh" rocketlaunchers in the game.

I agree with you about the gun, even more-so since it's not even a reflection of the original deus ex rocket launcher, which once locked on, the rocket could track even a PIDGEON. But the damage is on par with tier 6 rocket launchers, which seems to me, the uniques even are balanced around tier 6.

Tiered Tenant Deeds Suggestion Draft Mk II
    • Tier 1: Purchasable and requires 1 light source and a door in a room for placement. Generates: Tier 1 treasure when appreciation gifting. Shop tenants sells tier 1 items.
    • Tier 2: Craft combine Tier 1 + silver bar. Placement requirements: Those of Tier 1 + at least 1 other furniture/decoration. Generates: Same as Tier 1 deed but tier 2 items instead.
    • Tier 3: Craft combine Any lesser tiered deed + gold bar. Placement requirements: Those of Tier 1 + at least 2 other furniture/decorations. Generates: Same as Tier 1 deed but tier 3 items instead.
    • Tier 4: Craft combine Any lesser tiered deed + platinum bar. Placement requirements: Same as Tier 3. Generates: Same as Tier 1 deed but tier 4 items instead.
    • Tier 5: Craft combine Any lesser tiered deed + durasteel bar. Placement requirements: Same as Tier 3. Generates: Same as Tier 1 deed but tier 5 items instead.
    • Tier 6: Craft combine Any lesser tiered deed + solarium bar. Placement requirements: Same as Tier 3. Generates: Same as Tier 1 deed but tier 6 items instead.
    • Tier 7: Craft combine Any lesser tiered deed + diamond. Placement requirements: Same as Tier 3 but is slightly larger, because now it have an "invest" (upgrade) button. Generates: Same as Tier 1 deed but tier 7 items instead.
    • Tier 8+: Tier 7 gets an upgrade button there you can invest increasing sums of pixels to upgrade to next tier. Each tier increase here won't guarantee a tenant gift of that tier, but an increasing chance that 8-10 tier gifts being generated. If destroyed an uninvested tier 7 deed is dropped.
Theme of generated/sold items is already based on tenant NPC race/type. Which is affected by furniture theme when they moved in. And there is already tenant Quests that expands shop content. So no need to change that.

More streamlined and *intuitive for you, mr TCR47? :)

    * more intuitive as this is more in alignment of how the rest of the game already works.

I have a mini colony like the OP, you can abuse the small room even further and have an adjoining room full of furniture that the tenants might want.
Simply do the quest but instead of placing the item, break one block and replace.
This is great for farming missions and if you have a door scheme (light sliding door for instance) you will only have one race type spawning.

Much better than your Mk. 1 proposal, as this allows for smaller houses(because giant mansions cost alot of resources which means more mining/pixel spending at pixel printer). One question though. What kind of planets do I find platinum in? Is it an ore that's currently in Vanilla Starbound?, as i've never seen any.

Edit: My idea would just be to make the Moons as Tier 10 for Mobs, but Tier 1 for Colonies, if that's possible, or perhaps make them Tier 1 for all, but just super buff the Echrius Horror.

My bad! I meant titanium! >.<
Which you can find in all tier 3+ planets.

The change from level 10 to level 1 to moons is confirmed in the change log for 1.1.0 that is currently in the nightly build being tested.

whelp, just means i have to move my vanilla moon to a scorched or volcanic planet(preferably with no meteors or embers, might need to move underground just like my moon saloon).
As for my modded starbound, it shouldn't change unless steam forces an update(how do you permanently turn off updates to starbound on steam?) I'm worried cause I would like to continue being able to play modded starbound for the future(even if it's outdated), but may someday also like to play an updated version of vanilla starbound. is updated vanilla+updated mods compatible with older player/universe files?

TLDR: I'm glad they nerfed the moon, but i already got my 2 common(white) T10 machine pistols. On modded I got 1 blue machine pistol as well, but still need 1 more.
Also: I wonder if the T10 Machine pistols/Weapons will also change back to Tier 1 if I've already received them?

I've seen a dude on youtube show this off....it took him three hours of babysitting 10 colonists to get a tier 10 weapon......if someone is willing to grind it out for that long they deserve a tier 10 weapon.....seriously, patching something incredibly hard to get seems a bit ridiculous.....it's not as if people who wanted tier 10 weren't going to turn to mods over 3 hour grinds and mods can't be stopped so they bothered to patch this for what reason exactly? I fail to see a single good one.

Because it wasn't hard to get at all and gave overpowered weapons in vanilla. The vanilla experience remains important if they intend to port this to consoles.

Three hour grinds are not easy.....if someone puts that much time and dedication into it they damn well deserve Tier 10 weapons.

3 hours grind is nothing if you are looking for something specific, like a spear. Or anything that can be collected throughout the universe; which includes the figurines, and anything in the collections menu thing they have now. Ever tried looking for a specific rare instrument, or certain vanity sets that seem to take forever to roll into a chest...

I have seen more grind in other areas in the game, but then again I am one that doesn't consider it much of a grind; since I am exploring, adventuring, searching, or looking for materials to meet an end goal I had in mind. I guess I have a vastly different way to go about things if 3 hours is a grind. Like watching the grass grow, taking up farming. I guess I'll not ever fully understand the whim of getting T10 gear with ease like that, since that glitch/bug made it so one could do that on the first moon they encounter. The progression itself takes longer than 3 hours, at least for myself... but that is me. :nurutease:

Except it's more like 3 hours to get any Tier 10 at all.....something specific could take weeks....though that's depending on RNJesus.....still, 3 hours of grinding is more than enough to earn a tier 10 piece.

I did it the easy way and just settled with white machine pistols by rerolling a T10 merchant. RNGing for a blue or green is probably what you meant for "taking weeks for something specific".

you see that is where I am having trouble...

If getting to T10 in 3, when T6 or what ever the fire planet tier for solarium ore is, takes like more than 2x-3x that... Means shortening the tier gap by 1/2 or 1/3, if not down to that much instead of an actual progression prior to T10; and that is only assuming if one only did it on the first moon available. I am calculating time after the erchius facility to get to that point.

For me I am a bit slower in the progression, as not everyone rushes through it from point A to point B in equipment progression. armor aside, the weapons that are not part of the crafting table to be found, you would still have to rely on a bit of RNG to find one that is actually a decent one of that tier. Depends on the weapon of course. And my mention of turtling I actually took a lot longer than a week to get through that progression. That is only because I focus on other parts of the game along side it. I could see myself getting to current top tier from, after erchius to top, in roughly about 10-15 depending on how long it took me to find a weapon better for each tier.

So theoretically if the rest of the tiers were filled in between that missing gap, there would be roughly added 1-3 hours per tier depending on how they did the armor and weapons filling the gap. T10 is a hefty distance from T6, or what ever is the last one at the moment. Also the hour count will depend on also if I am collecting just enough for a single set of armor or when you get to the trio split, all sets.

What I am saying is basically it takes shorter time to go to T10 then T6 starting from the same point. Not how long it takes to get to a single tier, as that would still be 1-3 per tier depending on the tier as the trio is considered for armor as well. Still have to soak up or rather reduce damage done to oneself in order to survive feasibly when going up a tier. That and armor provides the bonus of damage. So going from T2- T6 takes longer than to T10. Which means short-cutting or not much of a grind as you would be grinding less in the long run if you went that route. Well I would at least....

Can't really compare an individual tier to another tier, unless you really want to risk the danger doing so before you are able to not suffer damage without an EPP upgrade. It is possible to do, just not usually what I would think be the usual route when not knowing of T10. That is why I compared to from point you can explore the universe to when you get to each ending tier. Maybe my play style is slower than most, but I play leisurely at my own pace...

The only way earning T10 gear for 3 hours would be fine is if the person actually got to T6 first. because otherwise it would be an exploit by design, which it was in the first place, since it could be done on any moon no matter if it was the first system you were in or not. That is just my take on it, as I see it quite pointless to get T10 stuff when there isn't even T10 stuff to go against, far as I know...

    Hardly.

You are on a moon, which is uninhabited for the most part. You have to look for trouble pretty hard to find it. Harder than what an actual tier 10 planet would be.

Also, as @Anuril described, you are either getting from a merchant, or through rent. Which literally builds upon itself with a pixel printer on hand.

Not sure where this talk of grinding is coming from...Tier 10 weapons were extremely easy to farm up. I did this with a colony of ~20 NPCs, just casually checking every now and then when I thought the rent timers were ready, and in a couple of days I was stocked with a wide variety of weapons.

I have a chest for magic weapons, a chest for ranged weapons, and a chest for melee weapons. And most of those weapons are either uncommon or rare. Could have had more, but I was just keeping the ones that fit my preferred playstyles.

    It was very silly...
