I like the idea of the tentacles being an apex experiment gone wrong and brought to earth through man's selfish desires.
I would like for the apex planet to be infected by a super virus then destroyed in a last resort.
The avians to have another civil war in which the losing side steals unfinished technology and irradiates the planet.
The hylotl to pollute their ocean planet.
The glich planet to be destroyed by a gliched glich trying to escape the planet with untested FTL technology.
The florans to be driven off their planet by everlasting forest fires (caused by the ship escaping while still in atmosphere).
The novakid planet to be destroyed by someone forgetting what the button in an enormous building with a nearby sign that said "Antimatter Containment Facility" did.

maybe the enemy of the humans is a old god style alien (like one of them that made the avians and glitch) and is made of tentacles that grow out of him sorta like tyrias arch angle wings only made of tentacles:fusrodah:
im most likely wrong but from a video game standpoint it would be cool

Except in Mass Effect, all those civilizations barely mattered. The only use they were were as meatshields so you could get BACK to the citadel through a round-about way and dues-ex-machina the reapers.

Ya, I'm sure if Chucklefish went the Mass Effect route, they would do it RIGHT and not jab us in the gut.

Yes it actually is, but corruption isolation is not really hard, it's just tedious.

Wonder if the tutorial for humans is during the escape from the ongoing infestation. I imagine it would be playing the Tentacle_Exploration_2 music and lots of screaming going on in the background.
In typical RPG fashion you suddenly awake and get to learn basic controls and get a objective\hint to escape. (No weapons or crafting tools :D) Learn stealth mechanics on the way to your first weapon\tool and after that make it toward your ship.
Guess that would make for a pretty nice tutorial. Guess i kinda love that kind of non-intrusive tutorial that is not just a wall of text.
