Thoughts on Flashlights

I never even considered flashlights for this game
They are really breaking the box on what I am expecting
in a good way
this makes me wonder what else there is to still reveal to us

 

I think this is a great addition to the game. Now I don't have to place torches in every cave I go into. If I'm just passing by and probably won't go down a cave I'll just use a flashlight. It's also great for nighttime travel.
It will also make you feel like an explorer. The only thing I don't like is how it will probably scare me when I'm in a cave, and point the flashlight in a certain direction and there would be a huge creepy monster running at me, and I'll probably shit myself.

 

That is why you have to use the buddy system
two people with flashlights is much better than one

I'm gonna make a huge mansion that is completely dark so my friends and I can play Hide-and-Seek in the dark!

 

I officially dub the flashlight more usefull than the Orb of Light... also i wonder if it takes energy? (energy was in alot of their previous screenshots so maybe the batteries run out until more energy is obtained)

 

omg i wonder if you can blind someone with a flashlight that would be awesomez

 

My only concern
will they be called Flashlights or Torches in the game

 

Probably flashlights since we already have Torches.

Well then, I learned something new today

 

Do they run on batteries?

 

Batteries not included noooooooooooo

 

I say they run on player energy (that is if they didn't delete energy from the game... though i think they might have kept it)

 

I know, I have a British friend and follow a New Zealand writer/artist. Both use/have used the term (the latter even wrote a funny encounter where one of his characters fumbled to remember what "those Yanks" called a torch.)

 

I did but it's pretty bad (the light part)

 

First, I love that flashlight! It goes perfectly with the lighting system! But I hope that there will be much more ways to enlighten the shadows!
I am hoping for a hanging lamp that swings around dangerously, just like in an interrogation!

 

I really like the idea of flashlights. It allows for true, realistic exploring.
The shadow effects are beautiful and brilliant.

Haha, the boss part always gets me!
I like the idea of chandeliers though! The more ways of lighting we have, the better!
