agreed on some point , the game got realy weak , then realy hard , and its obviosu some testing have been left over
but the game is inovative and just straight up awesome

even tho its a payable beta , anyone who experience problems will look it up to see whats going on ... especialyw hen its written beta in fat letters

get 1 shoted by birds , cant make house , get mad , look it up , end up on forum , see tons of complains about bird in update ,then
or wait patiently for the next update
or keep trying to see what else the game have to offer

    thats how it go

if you look up the internet for overpowered stuff , you just doing straight up industrial craft or terraria inventory editor
[MAX LEVEL 10 MINUTES , DO YOU EVEN LIFT , WELP IM GOD TIER THIS GAME GOT BORING REAL QUICK K THX BYE]

play blindly , enjoy the drops , travel randomly and for fuck sake dont look up where the things are
and even if you go , every weapons are like 675 pixels ... prettry sure that the lowest cost and the ultimate gun at those shop will become 50 times more pricy , making the lower level items more valuable and so you cant just make magical jump from copper bow to 1 hit kill ufo

Everyone was on CF ass about not releasing Starbound and threatening refunds. Now they put it out and that same group of people are bitching and moaning.

"it's too hard" "It's not balanced" "Combat is shit"

Early beta was released literally a week ago. What did you fuckers expect, a feature-complete & balanced game?

    Jesus Christ.

But we didn't pay for the beta itself. We paid for a full game that is to be released later. It's what Pre-order is about. Having beta access is just a bonus, really.

Chucklefish was nice enough to let everyone of YOU, who DID pre-order get a glimpse of things to come and maybe give YOUR input...
YOU are allowed to have some impact on the game before it becomes polished and perfect with only minor patches going out to add new content and/or balance the old.

Actually think of it this way.

Playing the game and winning at any point is a challenge, no matter how you do it. Sure we used the wall blocking technique as the monsters are far out of our league. But we don't think it'll always be like this, we'll just use whatever we have to at this point in time.

Every character reset or major update is just a new way of tackling the game. It did give a glimpse into understanding the game better and what to expect.

This game does suck. I'm glad I didn't pay for this p.o.s game.

This just shows the game needs to provide users with a beta terms acceptance policy. For those like showturtle who don't seem to understand the very nature of a pre-released game.

    [Edit]
How can you say a game is bad before it's even been released?

That's like playing a game in development for a day and judging it by the progress.. They likely rushed the content and balancing to provide us with a working game.

    Well, I fucking love it.

I got my money's worth from the soundtrack alone. UGH so good..

I used it the first time around because I wanted to progress in tech as quickly as possible to explore it all before the character reset- what they may end up doing is just making the bosses transparent (though how that'll work with the robot that moves over the ground might be interesting). Building a hut with a firing port for the first boss is not illegal, it's making use of a building mechanic, and the fact that it can destroy blocks means they clearly intended players to be creative in that regard.

I don't see building blocks around each enemy as being creative, just a temporary method until the game is more matured.

I agree. The game is too hard, poorly balanced, lacking content, and some people can't handle it.

Other people have formed a circle-jerk convincing each other that just because they enjoy it makes the game good in general.

Hopefully the reviews mention that the game is in Beta and the devs warned us.

The only people who should even be playing at all are ones who have the presence of mind to admit that the game is bad in it's current state, and can provide cool-headed well considered feedback on how to improve it, preferably without simple assertions that X is too hard or Y is too easy. Those don't help as much as careful examinations or focusing on the bugs instead of the balance. In other words, people who take this seriously in terms of being a beta tester, and not just an excited player.

    I disagree sir.

I find testing an early beta game, where features are still being added in and balance changed on a bi-weekly basis quite exciting. I am currently enjoying the game, and I take offense to the accusation that I am "circle-jerking" my fellow beta testers. I too was violated by the nasty UFO, I too have felt the sting of the orbital bird strike, and yes, I too have found a legendary weapon which had the audacity to spawn with 9 dps. The difference is in how you and "the circle-jerking many" are approaching the challenges. I am calming saying "well, that's imbalanced!" and making a calm and intelligible post, and trying something different in-game, while you and yours seem content to insult people enjoying the game on the forums.

I DO NOT admit that this game is bad in it's current state. In fact I've played almost 20 hours currently, and am greatly enjoying it. There are many "finished" games that I can't say that about.

I think you should take your own advice and provide cool-headed and well considered feedback on how to improve the game without automatically starting at "this game is bad".

    - an excited player

30 would be rather high for an age limit

Ayep. I tend to gloss over "You must be X years old to ride" posts because they tend to not understand that people can mature well before the age of 18 or remain immature well into their 60s or later, or they assign 'maturity' to whatever age they are, which tends to point at them being somewhat immature themselves...

From what I'm hearing so far, this game sucks because you paid $15 USD for it, it's unbalanced and not fun. Seriously? You're butt hurt over an early beta for a game that costs much less than your average triple A game? I'd understand if the game was $30 or more, but at 15 bucks it's practically lunch fare.

Not to mention, the developers decided to make a risky move by providing us with a beta game that was specifically mentioned time and time again that it was incomplete. I'm happy they decided to do this because we get to experience their development along with our playing.

Is the game very challenging? yes. Does the game experience whacky glitches/bugs? yes. Are the birds way over powered and shower you with vomit, blood and miniature rock boulders? yes to all. Apart from the first question, the other two can and will be fixed. Gripping on how it's a terrible game isn't helping anyone nor is it providing constructive criticism. If the game really sucks, give suggestions or ideas to make it better.
