You Realize By Joining This Forum And Pre-Ordering, You Pretty Much Took The Burden Of Knowing This Game Is Existent Upon Yourself.
    Now Be Patient Little One.
I Have Permission To Hit You Now. Beta Is For Testing, And Finding Bugs. If This Isn't Sarcasm, My Jimmies Will Be Quite Rustled.

Without reading what others have put, this is "typical" for the development cycle of a game:

Pre-Alpha = Only a few of the features and code is ready, lots of work left to do.
Alpha = Most of the features and code is ready, some work left to do.
Beta = All of the features and code is ready, just needs balancing and bug fixing, almost finished the work.

Beta is not ready yet and that is what we was promised, so please be patient.

Everyone stop flaming each other. I don't want to have to shut down a topic just because users cannot be civil. I am only giving you one warning, don't make me turn this car around!

Partially incorrect, a beta is mean to be feature-complete.

I wasn't being offensive, I was making a counter-argument. Also, don't tell me what to do.

Why hasn't a mod locked this thread? all it is doing is making people mad at each other over a stupid question that has been answered with "not even the dev's know when the game will be ready"
    seriously guys, chill.

Fair enough, but I found it amusing that his first complaint was the bugs... in a BETA.

Personally I think we should all just sit back, be patient and maybe excited, and just enjoy the daily updates of the game that will be within our grasp whenever it feels ready to pop out of its cocoon. Until it's actually here. Yes?

probably because a mod was just in here telling people to not yell at each other, but now I'm about to yell at you since you're making me tell you that a mod was just right above you saying how they are going to lock the thread which will probably lock the thread

    look what you did

Neither can you. It says 2013, not Summer 2013 or late Summer 2013. Its here when its here.

    this.

all of these threads are pointless. people don't even care to understand why the game isn't out yet, they'll just complain anyway because they lack patience and act as if they were entitled to a release asap even thought they buyed a game that is stated to release beta in 2013 and nothing more...

Not quite, but this is how people recently view the development stages of a game which is always incorrect. From someone who has helped at many stages with several game developments here's the best representation of the stages:

Pre-alpha = still mostly concept with tons of work left to be done.

Alpha = there is a system setup to allow the creators visual interaction with their code to see how it works, but still a TON of work left to be done.

Beta = A developmental range of "moderately unstable" to "moderately stable" which is why the beta stage of development can last an unknowing length of time.

    Hope that helps.

  19. Well, now there's the problem.

    Yes, mother.

I like this, I miss the days were betas were always closed and pressionals tested them and when a game came out it was a fully finished product.
Where unlike now people are relasing unfished games left and right and use the excuse "its a beta" as way to justify why the game is broken. Some have had postive results from this but because one person does it does not mean everyone else should.

Its sloppy and lazy, I don't think letting anybody be a beta tester is the best idea because from my personal experince they are there to play the game and not report whats wrong with it. Then there are people who offer the option of people paying for a unfinished game. The years of people constantly whining about long release dates has brought us to this exact momment of the industry.

Back when I was still apart of the media I have signed dozens of non disclousre agreements and I had to travel to an offsite building to test anyones game and we had to talk outloud and give our personal and professional opinons, where as now everyone who has a computer can be a beta tester. I had to work hard enough and get lucky enough to even become apart of the press. I was trained and received an education on how to critque, assess and define what my idea of a good product is.
Where as now 12 yearolds are doing my job and doing a piss poor job at it.

If people are that ancy about the game, do somthing else in your spare time because if you overhype yourself you will set in motion a major burnout and not be able to enjoy the game as you anticpated. I enclose myself to a complete media burn out when I really want to play somthing, it made the experience far more enjoyable than I expected.
