During your first year of gameplay, there will be a Ferry docked at the docks near Willy's fish shop. This Ferry will be inaccessible for the first year of gameplay, as it will be fenced off with a sign that reads "Out of order, come back on the first of spring." After one year, you will get a letter in the mail from the Ferry Captain (His name is Hoover), the letter reads as follows.

"Ahoy citizens of Pelican Town! I'm sending this letter to all of ye to let ye know that my Ferry has just finished its repairs! I'm back in business sailing the seas! If ye want to sail across the sea, come find me near Willy's docks any day between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM!
    -Hoover, Ferry Captain.

Then, you can head over to Hoover and for 2,500 gold (There and back), he will sail you to the new area!

Introducing Durma Island, an island located north of the ocean of Stardew Valley. Durma Island has a small town of its own (smaller than Pelican Town), known as Fruma Town. This town is inhibited entirely by dwarves! Ever wonder where the dwarf in the mines came from? Well turns out he's an adventurer and wanted to sail off of Durma Island to explore an island he saw in the distance which turned out to be Stardew Valley! He took refuge in the mines and called it his home. You will need the Dwarf Translation Guide in order to know what anyone there is saying however, so until you get it, the town is kinda just a grinding spot for materials not located in Stardew Valley as well as an area to do quests and earn money. Durma Island, besides Fruma Town, has other landmarks too! Here is a list of them.

-Fruma Town, a small town inhabited by dwarves, dwarven merchants can sell you seeds and foods exclusively from Durma Island. Dwarves can be interacted with, and you will have a separate friendship menu exclusively for Dwarves. Certain Dwarves will have quests for you as well, and in return will give you anything from money to seeds to items! There are plenty of houses and buildings in Fruma Town that are inhabited by dwarves. This town a little south of the center of the island.

-Enchanted Forest, a large forest with enchanted trees that change wood type depending on the season, Spring yields Regular and Hardwood, Summer yields Regular and Elm Wood, Fall yields Elm Wood and Spruce wood, and Winter yields Spruce wood and Birch wood. Also, very rarely, in the fall there could be a Sycamore tree which yields Sycamore wood, one of the highest selling wood in the game. Be careful at night, monsters lurk in the forest beyond 7:00 PM. it is located to the East of the Island

-Durma Caverns, Basically the mines, but on Durma Island. The Durma Caverns offer much more ore than Stardew Valley's mines, and it also offers ore specifically found in Durma Island, such as Rose Quartz, Sapphire, Painite, and the incredibly rare Sunstone, which allows you to craft a solar slate with 4 Sunstone, and 20 Solar Essence. Using a Solar Slate sets the time back to 6:00 AM, allowing you to continue mining without worrying about 2 AM approaching. You can only use 2 solar slates per week so use them wisely. You cannot use 2 solar slates in the same day. it is located east of the Jungle.

-The Labyrinth, probably the most illusive area in Durma Island, is the labyrinth. This 100 floor Labyrinth has mazes on each floor that you must find your way through to the center to continue. As you progress, the mazes get longer and more complex until you reach the bottom at floor 100. The first 10 floors are simple, and every 10 floors yields a treasure chest with an item inside. However, monsters start to appear in the Labyrinth past floor 25, getting more difficult to kill every 10 floors. So floor 25 is the easiest with mobs, and floor 95 is the hardest with mobs. Similarly to the Skull Cavern, the Labyrinth does not have elevators, so if you die, you have to restart from floor 1. It's recommended you bring a Solar Slate and some stair cases so you can traverse it with enough time to get to floor 100! (Trust me, the prize is worth it). The labyrinth is filled with dead ends, monsters past floor 25, random treasures and tons of items you can acquire throughout! It is located north of the Jungle.
Once you reach floor 100, you are presented with a locked chest and an unlocked chest. There is a key hidden somewhere on Durma Island that you must find to unlock it. If you do not have the key, you for now can only open the unlocked chest which contains a Stardrop, 500,000 gold, and the Dwarven Master Blade (best sword/weapon in the game) and it does 100-100 damage, 0.1 crit chance, +5 Speed, +20 Crit Power, and +4 Defense. However, it has a downside, it has durability. The durability of it is 500 hits, after you hit 500 things you need to repair it at the dwarven blacksmith for 30,000 gold.

-Second Farm, if you have the time and effort to do this, the island has a large field open for you to create a second farm. The size is a little bit larger than your farm on Stardew Valley, and it has more crows, however, it has little obstacles, so you can farm to your hearts content! You can place buildings on it just like on Stardew Valley, they are able to be bought from the Dwarven Carpenter at his house. You can also have animals there too. The crop fairy and witch can come to this farm as well. The strange capsule/stone owl cannot spawn here as it is not your main farm. it is located north of the Enchanted Forest.

-Durma Town Hall, Durma has a town hall, but like the Community Center in Stardew Valley, it is abandoned and run down. There are bundles specific to Durma Island that can be completed here to help repair the Town Hall, and after 100% completing the town hall, you will be named Mayor of Durma Island! How awesome! it is located in Fruma Town.

-Fruma Town Library, Fruma Town has a library that contains hundreds of books detailing the rich lore of all of Durma Island. If you want the lore for the island, check the spoiler below. The Library is run by a group of swarves known as "The Omniscient Ones", and they are known for knowing everything.. It is located south of the town hall.
Durma Island was the first island discovered in the vast sea. It was discovered 16,754 years before Stardew Valley. The original inhabitants of Durma Island were the shadow people. The shadow people lived on Durma Island for thousands of years, and created their empire of shadow culture. However, in the year 736 B.S.V (Before Stardew Valley), a war broke out on Durma Island between the already inhabited Shadow People, and the Dwarves. The Dwarves landed on Durma Island in 980 B.S.V, and lived peacefully with the Shadow People for 244 years, however tensions were high, as Shadow People are natural enemies with Dwarves. In the year 736 B.S.V, the Dwarven Leader Brushnuk (Great Grandson or the original Dwarven Leader Arknel who ruled from 1045-955 B.S.V), broke the peace chain between them and the shadow people. He demanded that the Shadow People give the dwarves more territory as population increased, but the shadow people declined, and instead took more territory from the dwarves. Brushnuk had no choice, and began what was known as The Great Dwarven War. The war raged on for 300 years, until finally in 436 B.S.V, the dwarves won the island over, and drove the shadow people out to an undisclosed location. One of the shadow people, Krobus, fled the island and swam to Stardew Valley to start a new life in the sewers where he remains today. Shadow People can live up to 900 years of age, unlike the dwarves 140 year average. For the next 436 years and onward Durma Island was ruled by the Dwarves.

-Mount Kroban, The tallest mountain in the world, Mount Kroban, is located in Durma Island. it is the northernmost landmark on the island, and spans 29,450 feet in the air (421 feet higher than Everest IRL). The mountain naturally gets colder as you ascend, and the minerals become more rare as you ascend, so to prevent the bitter cold from depleting your energy quickly as well as your HP, you'll need to craft some thermal wear which can be crafted with materials found on Durma Island. At the peak of Mt. Kroban is a tent with a dwarf inside who has been living at the peak for 40 years. His secret to living up there is simple, dwarves can withstand extreme temperatures more than humans can! Anyway, for reaching him, he will give you an Advanced Climbing Tool which can be used to scale mountains quickly. It lets you climb walls basically so no more running up slopes! It's incredibly hard to get to the peak of Mt. Kroban though, as you will encounter snow monsters as well as maybe encounter the ultra rare Yeti mini-boss from 20,000'+. it is located as far north of the island as possible.

-Lush Jungle, Durma Island has a Jungle known as the Lush Jungle, that can be accessed at any time of day. it's located on the western part of the island and contains Jungle Wood Trees that are incredibly tall and require a gold axe of better to chop down. The Jungle also has monsters of it's own, it has mutant bees that are giant in size, as well as giant mosquitos. These can easily be taken care of though if you have good weapons and armor. There is a temple in the center of the Jungle that opens up when you place a Prismatic Shard in the pedestal. It opens to reveal a temple filled with traps and monsters, and if you traverse it and make it to the bottom of the temple, a chest with a Stardrop awaits. The Jungle also has rare minerals and stones inside of it. You may find small caves with good ore in them littered in the Jungle! If you have the Advanced Climbing Tool, you can climb the trees and acquire Bananas, of of the best fruits in the game, giving +150 Energy and +100 HP. But beware of the Monkeys, they will take the bananas and run if they spot you stealing them! They might knock you off the tree too which will take 25% of your HP.

-Whitewater River, This raging river is filled with unique fish to catch, however you must find a calmer part of the river to catch fish otherwise your fishing rod could be swept away in the river if the conditions are too harsh! This river is located north of Fruma Town. One of the Dwarven Merchants sells you a Whitewater Raft for 500gold which can be used one time to get across the river and travel the island quickly.

-Mysterious Island, What's this? I won't tell here, but you'll find out if this gets added ;) (Ofc i'll tell Eric lmao)

Thats about it for the island, here is a basic map of Durma Island with everything marked. I'm no artist, but here goes!

Honestly I would be against this for the most part as it would dilute the over all experience. However this could be a good setup for a Durma Isle: a stardew sequel. That way you could focus on a new set of crops mechanics and new faces. Maybe have a save file reader in which you can select the farm you want from the first for visitation and festival purposes.

Heck just think if this took place x years after stardew. You could come back to see the fruits of your labors in the valley. Like your characters kids and the new children of the town grown into romancables based your friendships and choices.

it's redundant given that it is just a repeat of what you were already doing with nothing really special added and it kind of flies in the face of what we know about dwarves and shadow people.

i'm thinking about a small third area, just like Calico Desert. the desert is mainly focused for mining,
so i think another small area that's focused on something else would be nice, for example :
          - a grassland area with lots of foraging stuffs like wild plants or dig-able spots,
          - or an overseas island with waterpark area to focus on fishing both freshwater and seawater fishes,
          - or a mountain with a cave just like in the desert but more focused on fighting monsters with bosses after a certain number of floors.
