Thin layers of dirt/snow?

Hey, I was wondering if anybody knows if there's a way for the player to add those thin layers of dirt/sand/snow on top of blocks, if you know what I'm talking about? For example, if I wanted to have a stone floor, but have it look like it has some sand on it, a very thin, oddly placed layer of sand (this can be seen in some glitch dungeons or castles I believe), is there a way for me to artificially do that? or is it something only the game can do when generating a world or something?

As far as I am aware this can't be replicated. Only natural gen, but I would recommend checking if you can spawn it using admin mode.

 

Wouldn't even know where to start to try and spawn it in admin mode lol, not even sure what the thin layer actually "is" technically speaking.

It is the only way actually to do that unfortunately. Right now it just isn't in base game to do so.

I think it has every type. Snow, jungle grass, thick grass... The guy who made it said he would like to add the ones in FU too.

Edit: I checked the crafting station with admin mode on, so it should be showing all options:

 

Awesome! Thanks so much Time to install and test what it'll look like on the barn instead of just having sand blocks!

 

To unlock the recipe you'll probably need to grab some sand. I think the blocks you have in your colony will do it. But maybe you'll need to visit a desert world.

 

Or if you're just decorating, /admin-ing it probably isn't too much of a big deal.

 

The ground seeders mod is absolutely amazing. I use the seeders to decorate a ton of stuff.

One of the features of the mod that I thought was super cool was how he designed the method for obtaining and crafting the seeders. They feel reasonably expensive, use an item that you no longer need once you have all the MM unlocks, and require you to actually explore and collect certain blocks.

I almost feel like they could just add it in officially, lol.
