Be careful of who you group with, you could find yourself coming back to a completely empty ship.

I have just came back to this, i have to say i am not happy. If had just started out i would be fine. Except i am at the stage i cannot progress any further.

 

hehe, yea thats why I haven't played much multiplayer yet. Hopefully somebody will come up with something that will make stuff in your ship untouchable.

 

Yeah I've thought about this too. I'll definitely wait to group with people I don't know, at least until they set protection for ship items that nothing can be used by other players except doors, beds, and the teleporter.

 

all they have to do is make doors on ships owner only and unbreakable.

 

I feel like all items in a space ship should be unable to be mined/broken by players other than the owner. Also, the onboard stash should be unable to be used by players other than the ship owner.

However, players should be able to interact with decor, like drums or chairs. That way, should they make a way to increase ship size/add rooms, you can make a party room and various other rooms. However, the risk of people stealing or breaking your walls/decor is too much at the moment.

EDIT: Having the ability to lock doors would be great, too. That way you can stash chests and prevent people from interacting with them.

 

I feel like the ship locker should be accessed by only the ship owner. Even playing with a group of my closest friends there have been some items going missing. Even when they mean no harm and only want to take that one ore it can lead to a hassle.

In terraria I used the piggy bank system to hide personal valuables more then a portable storage. The ship locker is a very personal storage area, and I think it should be player only. If not, then a chest you can craft (hopefully early on) that has this capability. For a sandbox game capable of housing many players, this is fairly needed.

 

I would really love to see them just make the personal storage lockers on ship hold 100+ items. What is the need for all the storage items taking up so much space on a ship?

 

simple solution is the ship locker is player accessible only. Definitely needed though. I've felt this way since the first time I joined a group online and realized you can instantly teleport to anyone ship in the group and from there access anything on the ship. Griefing is bound to happen in MP and theft of personal items is top of the list.

The ability to restrict mining access to placed blocks would be awesome as well. prevent griefers from ruining bases and artwork and add a more competitive element to MP PVP with base defense, tower of power, and CTF type games.

I don't really care to be honest because of incoming updates/wipes. And on a plus side I feel more like a true Santa Claus. Living up to my looks is what I do best.

 

If you don't care post elsewhere. This is a issue for anyone who plays multiplayer. Also the wipe and update will not "fix" this unless Chucklefish left out a secret detail of adding locked/private chests or some other measure of protection.

 

Or they could have a dialogue pop up saying when someone requests to board your ship and you can approve or deny them.

 

I believe you misread my post sir. I'm simply stating that if someone steals from me, which happens quite a bit, I do play a lot of multiplayer, I simply don't mind, it's all going to get wiped clean soon anyways. Please don't assume that just because I don't care if I get stolen from or not I don't play multiplayer, that's exactly why I posted here.

 

Someone needs to make a mod where if you take something from another person ship, a guard spawns and says something along the lines of

 

You put full trust in a complete stranger and invited him to your ship. He looted your stuff. Don't see the issue here.

 

It was a natural assumption.

This does not make it any less of a issue especially because no more wipes will happen after patch.

what other way is there to make friends in this game then by inviting them into parties? Currently doing so automatically allows them the ability to warp to your ship. They should make ship warping invite only as you can always share planet coordinates to link up with others. locking your ship locker would be awesome as well because then you could invite others to your ship to save fuel costs during planet hopping exploration.
