There will be our home buildings wipe on the next stable update?

I wanted to know if there will be someway to save the buildings done for the next stable update, until i read that they will remove the sectors, will we lose our constructions? i spent a lot of time constructing

 

With all the updates to code including biome and dungeon generation changes -- there will probably be a world wipe. But even without one, again because of all the changes, starting a new character will probably be the best course of action to avoid bugs.

Definitely share your constructions though! I've been eager to see someone worthy of The Architect badge

 

you could still do a copy/save of ur world.. or atleast make enough screenshots so you can easy rebuild it

 

If they keep some of the changes they put into the nightly... I'm not sure I'd WANT to make a new character. my tests in the nightly build... new character phase is absolutely horrible, especially if your starting planet area is horrible.

 

Agreed, though it's a simple adjustment to make sure the player has a fairly good chance of getting a decent starter planet (e.g. Good Start makes it a Threat Level 1 forest, and not level 2 or 3.)

 

Why not just have 1 big planet or giant space ship that never gets wiped that any race can warp to after getting far enough through the quest until starbound is out of beta?

No, an actual area big enough to build large structures and devices with monsters, perhaps 1 untouched giant planet for each tier. Sort of like planet Prime in your multi-universe theory.

Well, the thing is if you had such a planet you'd basically just have a really really big ship. I don't think it's a good idea in terms of facilitating Starbound's bottom dollar: exploration.

 

Atleast we will got advised before a home wipe? atleast if there wont be a ship wipe maybe i could save some items there before a wipe

 

You've been advised about home wipes. You've been warned since the very beginning there will be wipes because this is inherently a very unstable form of the game.

... Home planets aren't any different from any other planets.

The developers are not going HA! TAKE THIS! WE'RE DELETING YOUR PLANET!

They're just adding new content that changes how data is stored in such a way the old universe is no longer understood by the game client. Thus, you have to delete it and make a new one.

Developers however did say no more character or ship wipes. They said 'hopefully' no more world/universe wipes too though. I can rebuild my home world. But I have a lot of really awesome random weaponry and stuff that I will be quite pissed if I lose.

 

I dont want to lose anything, but atleast if we dont lose character and ship will be nice

 

as far as I have read wipes should be expected until the game is out of Beta, so I'm not getting too attached to anything. However what constitutes Beta?? The games seems pretty stable and playable (and most importantly lots of fun) to me!
